agreed, I found my copy at Half Price books for 9.99, unpunched as well, plus there was like a 25% off thing so I think I ended up paying like 7 bucks or something, but it is a decent game

Yeah, same here with the same game. I traded for Buffy last year, before I found 4 of them in two weeks.
This year, it was Can't Stop - traded for one, then found a copy in even better shape while the first copy was in the mail.
Yep.
I guess you could say the same for Swarm of the Marro, but both that and can't stop were more about getting my game to the people, less about what I got back, so no big deal.
Buffy hurt, though.

Tim: Willow (dead) + Xander (alive)
Some Guy: Oz (Alive)
Some Other Guy: Buffy (alive)
Some Other Other Guy: The Mayor (dead)

This is a pretty good game regardless, but it really helps if you are a fan of the TV Show, and nobody I usually play with at Game Night seems to be, so the only chance I get to play this is at Gamestorm.

This time we played Season 3, so the bad guy was the Mayor. He starts right next to one of the artifacts, and, sure enough, he found the Box of Garvok on the very first turn and ascended - before the opening credits, essentially.

So instead of a game about doing research to find the Living Flame and racing to find the Box, it became a snake hunt. Oz was trapped between the Mayor and Mr. Trick in the Bronze, but he did a good job bobbing and weaving until the Full Moon, when he did some serious damage to Mayor. In the meantime, Xander found a magic sword, which he used to help take out Vampire X and then trade to Buffy. Willow was killed by the Mayor while trying to fill up her Research cards, but when the Buffy and her Magic Sword finally go to the Mayor, it only took a few turns of hacking until he was an ex-snake.

Only very slightly, used to be so much more but I think this Christmas the market was flooded. Still worth getting as it's a good game and the "want in trade:have for trade" ratio is not too awful (1:2).

Comes with a Vampire Harmony character that isn't used in any of the scenarios. I wrote the company and they told me she was originally used in a scenario but they changed it.

There's an Evil card to summon Harmony as a minion, so she doesn't need to be in a scenario to wind up in play.

However, I have a nagging feeling that there is a character token who isn't used...can't remember who though...

Early print runs didn't have the Summon Harmony card. It was fixed later.

There's also an error in the Judge scenario where the rulebook says Spike/Dru/VampX and the card says Spike/Dru/Darla.

Well I have the summon harmony card in my set. I did notice the error of vamp X just now too. Thanks for the clarification on what the hell they meant. Vamp x = darla. Which makes sense.

That must have been a holdover from the early rough drafts of the rules and they didnt correct it in time for release.

Sounds like a good idea for a BGG list. Games Based on TV Licenses That Didn't Suck. Including Buffy, I can think of two.


A Game of Thrones doesn't count because it was based on the books first I think.

Give this one a shot. I got a copy thrifting, too, along with more "hardcore" games the same day. We tried all the serious games, but had the most fun with this. The master whooped our collective scooby gang ass, too.
