I have an idea to print some up on heavy card stock (double sided) and then laminate the cutouts. Not as nice as the originalv plastic, but better than nada. One could even make the musashi the same way.

But I agree..."Stupid HASBRO taking out the actual swords."

Gotta say....it takes me back. Last played it about 10 years ago, even some friends who drank a bit too much enjoyed it!

It's nice to see an old classic making a comeback. I agree with the swords comment though too. I think the plastic might have been better on the old one. Although, the artwork is better on the new one.

Overall, the components look better to me, but time will tell with the quality since AH Hasbro component quality varies so much. I agree though, no swords is some serious weak sauce... Hopefully the rest of the components somehow make up for it. Looks sharp though.

Looks cool.

Are the rules identical to the previous version(s) of the game? Do we even know the answer to that question?

Either way, would love to read the (new) rulebook if someone could throw a link at me.

Thanks.

Anyone see the Ninja? It doesn't look like he's included in the set.

I loved in the original set, how just owning the Ninja for the turn made your opponents fear you. Well, there were times when you feared him too, if he betrayed you. LOL

You don't see the ninja, the ninja sees you...

The ninja's among the ronin near the bottom of the picture.
