Endgame, solo play. The Russians were ahead for most of the session, until the Austrians were able to turn the line and get cavalry behind the Austrians. The cavalry did some combined attacks that changed it from 3-4 to 5-4 rather quickly.
Does it come with solo rules? If not, how are you playing it?
It doesn't come with solo rules. I just have to do the old trick of playing each side in turn, and turning the opponents cards face-down while I try to forget them. I play each side as if they didn't know the other plans and could only discern them by the posturing and positioning of their opponents.
It actually works pretty well and is decently enjoyable. It helps that I keep having to leave the game behind, so I actually do end up forgetting the other hand of cards (and long-term plans) between plays.
I only soloed at first to try and learn the game to teach others, but enjoyed it well enough that I've soloed the game multiple times since, just for the pleasure of it.
