This was done with a Nikon D50 with a Tamron lens 70-300mm set to macro 1:2. Very bright sun light and a supplemental flash from the front.
It took about 70 shots to get one that I liked.
Taking pictures of a small black shiny playing piece and still have it show some of the detail in the face was a bit harder than I thought.

Why did 91 people recommend this picture? Can't even see the details of the Budda. Could easily photoshop that picture to look like that. 91 geek gold, quite rediculous.
