Loving the previews. So I assume if he attacks Oldin, who's next to a wall, and rolls a 3, that's considered a "Miss", right? (Same with Cloaks of Shadows, etc.)
No, it's not a miss. Oldin doesn't receive a wound but it didn't miss... See the Tundra Orc Shaman entry in the official FAQ, v1.3... Although it's been confused because the "Book of Tundra Orc Shamans" on the PHG website hasn't been updated with the correction.
Joe's right. Compare, for example, a CG Slinger's Reckless:
Quote:
When attacking with this Slinger, only die results of 4 or higher count as a Hit.
with Oldin's Stone Melding:
Quote:
When an opponent rolls to attack Oldin, if Oldin is adjacent to a Wall Card, he only receives Wound Markers from the results of 4 or higher during that attack.
Some abilities change Hits to Misses, while others affect the placement of Wound Markers, while leaving the Hit/Miss status alone.
No but I think that they're covering all their bases when it involves rolling sixes. They don't want to have to change it if in the future there is some die modifying unit that affects the roll.
See "Slasher" and "Phantom" cards to see what I'm talking about.
Quick question though, how is it possible to roll higher than a 6 on a roll? Is there some new card that adds +x to the hit roll?
I've wondered that myself. There is nothing that I'm aware of to add to SG dice rolls. But it is typical for the cards to anticipate that possibility in the future. -- every SWs card that has results by rolling a 6 says "6 or higher".
Similarly, the cards refers to "any of your die results", although Bombers only get to attack with 1 die, and AFAIK the Sand Goblins have nothing to increase their attack values.
Yes, shrubberies are my trade. I am a shrubber. My name is Roger the Shrubber. I arrange, design, and sell shrubberies.
Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ni at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange & design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress in this period in history

Sand Goblins don't have the ability to modify die rolls or gain attack dice yet, but there could be a future sand goblin or mercenary that does so. Also, I think Summoner Wars officially supports a free-build variant, so all kinds of crazy stuff is possible.
These guys should make the Scavengers more useful and much more fun. Simply throw a bomb (or two or more) and then scavenge them up. Their 0-cost makes them perfect Scavenger-fodder plus by scavenging they'll deny opponents easy magic.
The Sand Goblin reinforcements are threatening to move them into my favorites list.
