Seeing this makes me wish there was a D-Day Dice lunchbox. Loved those old metal lunch boxes.
I used to have a metal lunch box that came with a spinner and some magnets so you could play a baseball game on the back of the lunchbox. It was very cool. I miss those days.
The D-Day Dice tin box looks great. I cant wait to get my copy in the mail.
$50 MSRP seems a little steep for a dice game. The game appears to be well-regarded though, so maybe it's worth it.
Isn't the MSRP on Quarriors $55?
I know that Quarriors has a lot more dice, but IIRC, D-Day Dice will have larger dice (a set for each player), near as many cards in it and 4 double sided boards.
Quarriors contains 130 custom dice. This game contains 28 custom dice, though I'll grant that they're slightly larger and likely higher quality. It does contain more cards as well, so I guess that's something.
Anyway, it just surprised me that's all. I'm certainly not above paying $50 for a new game -- especially if it's good, which this one appears to be from all the praise and hype.

The MSRP for D-Day Dice is $40. The reason this box has a $50 price tag is this: Valley Games will only print these tin boxes once (for our Kickstarter supporters), and they will probably use the leftover boxes for a "limited edition" of the game, which might contain a free expansion (nothing has been decided yet). All this because the manufacturer has minimum quantities for tin box orders... which exceed the number we need for our supporters.

Dice, cards, AND mounted map boards.
And don't forget 4 dial cards, which ain't cheap.
Plus, we went all crazy and decided to print the game in color! That alone added, like, a million bucks to our production costs, which our dear customers will have to cover.
Also, the Russian bride Valley Games promised me during the Kickstarter campaign got lost in the mail, so I had to order another one (and pay shipping twice).
If you are looking for a particular Japanese game e.g. String Railway, just GM me. I might be able to help you track down a copy :) & we can do a trade.
I love the tin box. I think $50 is a fine price, and they added so many extra bits and pieces to the game to make it even more awesome. The Dice are FANTASTIC by the way. They are really beautiful!!
In Japan & Australia, buying imported board games (American made) from an LGS sometimes cost double the price as in the States. e.g. 7 Leaders = $80!!!!, and it was only cards, but people still pay the prices because of the game quality/artwork/design Wish I lived in the States hehehe. But now that I've found ways to get the games for cheaper it's a lot more easier on my wallet, but I still go support my LGS from time to time.
So I'm all for $40 for the MSRP Look at all the backers that already backed the game on kickstarter I think that speaks volumes Plus the dials were a great idea!
I can't wait for D-Day Dice to get out to the public

Those Russian Mail order bride places are kinda shifty you gotta make sure you order from a reputable one, or else who knows what kind of other shenanigans they might try to pull.
PS, imagine the look on her face when she realizes she will be in Quebec, not only will she have to deal with trying to learn French-Canadian, but the weather isn't any better...
