Maybe it's just me, but the way the "blur" of the bigs is, it looks like the bigs are moving back INTO his hand. Maybe he's practicing his leet telekinetic skills on 'em in anticipation or something?
The blur looks like that when using "ordinary" flash synchronization. The sequence is then like that: the shutter opens and the camera flashes immediately. Than the shutter waits around 1/60 s (usual shutter speed for flash photography) and closes. During that 1/60 s the pigs still move and generate the blur.
It is possible to make that blur more natural - it's called "second curtain sync". When using this functionality, the camera flashes right before closing the shutter (so the pigs first create this blur and then are fully exposed using the flash light.
