Yes, I spend Geek Gold on useless things like this.

Just looking at this makes me want to try this. Any word on when it may be coming out? One thing I noticed is that the edge of the tiles could be a green color like the grass to give it a more complete look if that makes sense. Other wise a very nice looking game, can't wait to play it.

I suspect that that is not an easy thing to add. The board stock would either have to be produced with a green die running through all of the paperboar, or you would be printing on the side of the hexes. Or hand-painting. Either way, assuming that is thick card-stock, I could see it greatly increasing the manufacturing cost.

But is this image computer generated? Or at least maybe the pieces are added? Or something? It has a funny look to it, the sharp edges, the striking contrast, the grain, something I can't put my finger on?

I think so. The wood grain on some of the temples and huts appears to be exactly the same pattern.

It looks cg to me too. Look how sharp the tips and top edges of the buildings are. You'll put your eye out!

What strikes me as odd about the image is that it's all in perfect focus from near to far. This doesn't usually happen with a close-up of a table-top scene.

That would probably be because it's a computer generated image, not a photograph.
