Yeah, I have to agree. Can't wait to get my hands on this expansion.
We started planning our next game right after our last. Sure wish I could whip this out on game night as a little surprise for everyone.
Rather than start looking in December, I'm just going to plan on January so that I don't get my hopes crushed if I don't have it in time for the holidays.
What's the deal with that kooky "Cosmic Encounter"-looking hex with the double worm gates? Is that system outside of normal space? In some far off zone only accessible through wormholes?
And it has a green border as well... what's up with that thing?
A number of things that I've heard so far, actually. There is another set of strategy cards, as well as a third alternate IMPERIAL card to use. That's the biggest point of contention. There are new technologies that fix other interesting problems, like the action card used to immediately dreadnoughts and War Suns ... the tech makes immune these units to action cards. There are race-specific techs, too, which supposedly heal deficient races, like the Barony of Letnev and the little-used Pipsqueak Holdfasts of Kit.
Nice Picture of the new stuff. Does this mean that we can play with 8 players? Now we will definately not finish a game in one sitting. Who has room to leave it out until the next time the whole group can play again? I haven't played the game enough to decide which parts are 'broken' but an alternate strategy card set seems intriguing.
