Now this is how it should be played!!

I made numerous attempts with TV packing materials and what not, but it never looked anything as good as this.

I saw a board similiar to this at VegasCon in '89 or '90. Great board!

I'm sure there's a market for them.

Sell them in mission sets or something?

Base set - mission 1
exp - extra casts needed for mission 2, etc.

I'm not the creator (I just posted his pics -- with permission!), so I'm not sure if he has plans to sell anything like it. I'd love to send him a few gallons of RTV and get back some molds.

Ok - I think it's time to step in...

I'm Frank - located in Stuttgart/ Germany and the creator of the 3D Hulk. It's just a hobby for me and the last months I was very busy on my job. I always hope that it will be better, but well...

I got some requests for these tiles and perhaps I will find time to make more casts in the next months. At the moment I'm casting more tiles to have also a set available for my wife. She enjoyed it very much at the munich tournament: http://www.beckerf.de/SH_Munich_2007

This was also the point to decide to make a tournament in Stuttgart this summer: http://s7.beckerf.de.

But back to the topic: The casts are not cheap! Plaster of Paris is too weak, so I have to use Resin. I use resin that costs 2kg for 50Euro and doesn't damage the moulds (which is very important. A friend destroyed several Hirstarts moulds by using other resin).
So for a 1.Edition set you need about 300 Euro for Resin. And it's very time consuming to cast the doors and very messy to sand the casts.

Btw. I spend about 800 Euro for silicone and in total about 1500 Euro for the whole project. Yes - some people call me crazy, but even my wife likes to play in a 3D-Hulk instead of cardboard.

Frank

A Friend of mine pointed me to the following Website when I showed him the Pictures:

It's a bit expensive but for those of you who don't have the time/patience/skills to build such beautiful tiles by yourself it's probably an alternative...If you have the money

My 3D-Hulk project started using the door from Ainsty Techtunnel 2 ( http://www.oldcrowmodels.co.uk/ainsty/a1005.jpg). This door was defining the angle of the corridors.
I have also the rest of Techtunnel 2, very nice, but unfortunately you are not able to build the original missions. E.g. the T-section is 5 floor plates long.

Looks great, love the game and used to play it to death. The 3D element must really bring alot of atmosphere to the game.
