Some of the population limit indicators are missing in Greece. It seems such a shame to nitpick this marvelous map...blush

Are you planning on making the image available once you are satisfied with it?

Sorry, special rule: All the pop limits in the greece block are 1. I should note that on the map though for clarity, yes.

It looked like it might be the case, but that seems rather odd to create a special rule instead of just putting the ratings on the map for all to see. That's rather counter-intuitive.

You sir, are a GOD. A completely insane one but a god nonetheless.

18 players? Can everyone trade with one another or are there regional limits?

Thanks! Trade is split between east and west. Remeber I'm not "at fault" for the design itself, see http://www.civproject.net

We are at fault for this, though, which is almost done (finally!): http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=...

Yes, this one is massively changed enough, and any legal trouble with releasing it would be on someone other than me.

It should be available to download as an enormous file in the next few days, either from my site or www.civproject.net itself...

OMG, how many years do you think it would take to play an 18 person game of Civ?!

Well, having visited the Civ Project site, it would seem the original PBEmail test game took 18 months.

Visit the site folk! These people have been working very hard and it looks very very good to me.

I just hope they have made enough changes to avoid getting their socks sued off over copyright.

I'm Jonno from CivProject.net. We are now hosting a full-resolution, 131MB, version of the map in our archive at http://www.civproject.net/Archive/CivProject/Mapboard
Low resolution PNG files should be up shortly (in case your bandwidth or computer RAM is limited).

Regarding playing time: Over PBEM it'll take over a year, but IRL you can play it in 12-18 hours. I've played shorter games as well, in 6 hour 12 people played 10 round.
If you'd like to know how we manage to play on this huge map, take a look at www.civproject.net, we have a full set of rules, as well as a forum.
Hint: If you aren't 18 players, you only use part of the map.

Yes, it works 5-18 players. Though you should aim for the stars, 18!

It looks as if the hi-res version of the map was hosted on civproject which is now defunct. Would it be possible for you to host it on your own website so we can download it?

thanks

Would love to get a hold of this. All of the links to Civproject.net are defunct now. Is there a chance you could add it to the file section of the game?

This is wicked awesome.

Makes me kind of sad I printed out the normal Civ Project map at Kinkos (was expensive). =)

(Herve means http, not ftp at the start there.) Here's the map section, and this map is the final file in the list: http://ftp.jon.severinsson.net/pub/civproject.net/CivProject...
