Got them at an office supply store. Back to school always brings all sorts of binders and cool useless stuff
These where 4$CAN each. I used CCG collectors sheets that I resized (used an x-acto knife, steel ruler and a cutting board) to fit the mini binder. Out of one sheet of 9 cards, I can get two sheets of 2 cards for the mini binder. What's great is that I can easily fit the base cards, the current expansion cards and a couple more to come.
Thanks. Awesome job as always with your customized gaming goodies.
Thanks!

Wow you may have now invented a new player aid that with a company logo will only be $19.95. Seriously, an awesome idea that makes me think duh why didn't I think of it. Congrats.
All this love! It's almost to much (well no, it never is ). But seriously, like you pointed out, it is really simple. My initial idea was to use a Rollerdex, but it was a bit overkill and I wasn't sure the cards would stay in there pouches when upside down.

Yes, but do they still fit back into the original box compartment?
As soon as I took out those miniatures and started painting them, I new they wheren't going back in. Same thing with the foamcore aids and mini binders. You could say that from the start, I've been (here it comes) thinking outside of the box (I know, cheap, but I just had to say it )
If your orange juice doesn't burn on the way down, then you need more vodka!
do you have any pics of what the sheets look like before you cut them? I guess I am not seeing exactly how it is made. Going to need somehing like this for the new Memoir Expansion as well it seems.
Incredibly clever indeed. I'm a real sucker for player aids and what you've done here is just "wow" - it makes me want to buy the game just so that I can arrange the cards in the same way ^^

Cool idea. Maybe its just late but how did you only get 2 sheets of two cards?
Did you keep the left edge of the original binder sheet intact or did you cut it off?
I'm picturing cutting the left edge off and slicing the sheet horzontally into three sheets of two and the hole punching the presealed side (which in the original configuration of the binder sheet would be the bottom of where the cards are).
Cool idea. Maybe its just late but how did you only get 2 sheets of two cards?
Here's how I did it. The bottom diagram (X's) represent my CCG 9 card, double sided sleeve (capable of normally holding 18 cards). Let's say the binder holes are on the left side:
With an x-acto knife on a cutting board, I removed the side strip with the original binder holes on the left so that I'm only left with the 9 sleeves. Then I cut away the center strip of card pockets as described below. I actually have to sacrifice the center strip since I need to cut into it in order to leave some room to punch in the new mini binder holes.
Now I'm left with two seperate 3 pouch strips (down from 18 cards to 12 cards holding capacity):
I then cut away the 3rd pouch on the right (could be the left one also) since it won't fit in the mini binder. I'm then left with 2 strips of 2 pouches (down from 12 cards to 8 cards holding capacity):
X X
X X
Then I turn the pouches on the side and punch out the new holes so that they align with the binder rings. You may need to try this a couple of times to get it right and maybe theres a better way of doing it. Best thing is to experiment.
I have to say, it's alot easier than I thought it would be, only took me about half an hour to cut, punch, and arrange the cards in the binders. I think I got lucky and even bought the same binders as yours (from Staples... Hillroy I think, anyway, they look the same).
So now, thanks to you, my BattleLore OCD has taken one step further into calming down for good... I only have to scan/print out the singles for the second book. Awesome idea again, BTW.
I've set up the cards loosely based on the order in which the rules they refer to are presented in the main instruction book. Ex: Basic movement (troop and cavalry) card at the front and special terrain cards at the back. I also have them grouped up into categories (weapons, races, terrain, etc...). I find it easier to manage. This way, I can get to what I'm looking for pretty quick.
I know that I am way behind on this but I would love to make these, but cannot find any binders like this. Can someone put a link that works for one of these on here. Thanks!
Ultra-Pro makes a "Collector's Album" collectible card binder that is larger (each page holds 4 BattleLore cards) but has the virtue of being cheap (4 $CA) and all ready to go (the card holders are already in there). It has a capacity of 80 cards, which is enough for the full BL gamut with a little room to spare (for future growth).
