So, did she have to wear that "Miss Canada" sash the entire time, or did she get to swap it out for something else?

"Ohh, looks like you just got your ass beat by Miss Sucks At Hannibal. That's gotta hurt."

"Hey, do you want me to bring you back anything, Miss Nachos And A Cerveza?"

"Dude, I'm moving to Canada. Miss Average Canadian Girl said all her friends are wargamers too!!"

I think he's implying that the wishful speaker would assume that this lady is representative of most Canadian women.

In other words: "She's really pretty and likes to game, and she's from Canada. All girls from Canada must be really pretty and like to game too!".

Don't laugh, I've seen that logic used in any number of other places (to include govenment).

Good grief, people, you're going to make me explain it, aren't you.

Here is a photograph of a female person who has won the Miss Canada pageant, and who is playing Hannibal, so she is clearly not representative of the average Canadian female person. I submit for your consideration the proposition that if she were to wear instead a sash identifying herself as the winner of a contest held to establish the most thoroughly and unimpressively average Canadian girl, and if she were to reinforce this by claiming that her appearance and interests were unremarkable among her peer group, one might derive some small measure of amusement from the surreptitious study of gullible fairgoers' reactions as they consider the existence of a land they never dreamed possible, a vast frozen land of long, cold nights and hot, wargaming women--redundant, I know--and then as they realize that no such land exists; that they are sad, incomplete people; and that this game will sit unplayed on their shelf, mocking them as failures until the merciful end of their tedious, unfulfilling lives.

Similarly, I claim that if she were to wear a sash identifying herself as the worst player of this game in a nation of millions, and if she were to then savagely destroy every opponent who sat down opposite her, that might be another way to derive amusement from the bitter tears of middle-aged men.

The "Miss Nachos And A Cerveza" sash... not sure where that came from. I bet it would be a better conversation starter than the "Miss Canada" sash, though.

Good, good. If you ever get stomped to death by an assailant wearing size eight snowshoes, the police will be able to narrow the investigation down to the entire country of women you just called unattractive.

Boss Happy:
You've made your decision then?

kuhrusty: Not remotely. Because iocane comes from Australia, as
everyone knows, and Australia is entirely peopled
with criminals, and criminals are used to having
people not trust them, as you are not trusted by me,
so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of

Hey shes pretty! Pretty sure its already been decided but when you blow up the pic its definitely a 'N' after the 'A'.

Nor am I trying to be rude the kuhrusty guy tends to sound like the people around here on campus who like to talk in a purposefully confusing matter and then derive great pleasure from having the people ask them to explain, as well as watching everyone flounder around guessing what they're trying to mean, then they swoop in like some hero and act perturbed at the fact that they have to explain it to us 'lessers', because they think they've just dropped the worlds greatest pile of intellectualism when its just that a huge steaming pile of BS.

Over all its just a ploy to make people think they're highly intellectual when they're really not, as they usually have no girlfriends to stroke so they have to stroke their ego...

Too harsh? Perhaps but I just woke up and have class soon, I call it like I see it. All the best, Jon

I got it. For the dumb people, you should have said "Miss Representative-of-all-typical-Canadian Girls" or something. Yeah, that means "Average", but to the "Average" person, "Average" means "Not so good".

Haven't you been reading the comments from people who've received their preorder copies!? Valley Games is associated with beauty!

EDIT: And I'm not just talking about the game itself. The components were treated with moisturizers and natural light reflecting pigments, so rubbing them on your body will make your skin silky soft, supple, and naturally radiant.

Yeah. Although the cognitive dissonance here makes my head asplode, I say good on Valley Games for this marketing strategy.

Now if we can get her to play OCS...Perhaps MMP could sponsor her next year?

Allegedly Valley Games was so far behind in setting up their booth they would have started without any copies of Container to sell if it wasn't for Miss Canada driving the truck from Frankfurt herself.

http://www.boardgamenews.com/index.php/boardgamenews/comment...
http://www.rpggeek.com/geeklist/25387

If this rumor is true, Miss Canada pulling a truck full of games up to the Essen loading dock is a picture we'd all like to see! But it looks like everyone was too busy with booth setup at the time to take pictures.

Looking through the actual list of her sponsors, I don't see ANY beauty products.
http://www.alesiaf.com/sponsors/index.html

It's a plumbing supply factory, an energy trust, a sporting supply company,
a protective goggle manufacturer, a steel bit manufacturer, a photography studio, a car salesman, and Valley Games.

No beauty products what-so-ever.

And Container is a great tie in for her. Her bio states she has been working as an account executive at an international logistics company for the past two years.

It's a plumbing supply factory, an energy trust, a sporting supply company,
a protective goggle manufacturer, a steel bit manufacturer, a photography studio, a car salesman, and Valley Games.

No beauty products what-so-ever.

In Canada, those ARE beauty products.

A girl who knows plumbing, wears protective goggles and carries a hockey stick...

I'll be in my bunk.

If you look closely, you can see the misery behind her bubbly, affable mask, especially in the pic with the man-bear with his hand near her rear. I don't get it, nerdy men drooling over a woman who despises their breed. She must have been in hell the whole time.

You know, untill that last photo confirmed it, I was convinced it must be miss Cann (as in the town, allthough I probably miss-spelled that)
That sure is a lot closer to Essen.

She looks as if she's on something, or very affraid, who wouldn't be with mr. Bear about to drag her off to his cave for the winter.

You actually believe they transported a real woman from Canada?
They probably posted a sash to Essen and told some really intelligent local girl to "wear this and don't speak"
I've spoiled it for all of you who thought she was canadian haven't I.

She looks as if she's thinking "if I don't move they won't notice me and all the weird people will go away"

Having insulted the poor girl long enough, she's probably moved from Essen (and even Germany) by now, there is one thing that I really wondered about.

Why is it all you peoples dream to have a real HOT girl to play boardgames with.
If I found a real HOT girl willing to play any game I like, I can promise you boardgames would be the last thing on my mind.

Trust me, when she said she was into table top games.....
This wasn't what she ment.
