Is it worth pointing out that Red played illegally with 2 pieces that don't exist?

No, i don't think it is.

It was Red's Birthday! He turned 33 He always plays red.. I'm blue and I like to mess up green (the cake designer) and poor yellow was the cake baker. It's true to life.

Actually, I was just the icer ( is that a word ) and Trish did the design this time.

For those that that would like duplicate.

We used a 10" square pan ( by Wilton )

I then iced the cake with home-made butter cream frosting, a very little bit of black food coloring will make it gray.

With a tooth pick and ruler, I made hash marks every 1/2" along the edges of the top in the icing. Then with a piece of dental floss, cut the grid lines using those markings made.

The Blokus pieces are made from fondant ( a clay like sugary cake topping ). Wilton sells "Rolled Fondant Primary Colors Multi-Pack" which comes with the 4 colors you see in the photo. Trish rolled it out, and used the actual Blokus pieces to make an impression in the fondant, which she then cut out with a knife. The Blokus board is just a little bit larger than 10" and the little squares are just a hair larger than the 1/2" squares i made on the cake, but it worked out just fine, and looked great.
