That is awesome. I've only played sound effects and music to get into the mood. Next time I will have to dress up!

Again, kudos to everyone for getting into the game.

He is referring to "Mandy," the girl with the book. The girl with the guns is "Jenny."

It's clearly past time to make some sanity checks .

Seriously though, well done and very funny, especially the guy eating a sheep in the back row.

I imagine the roleplay would have added a lot of atmosphere to the game.

Yes, the plastic guns, the beards, the fake medical equipment, the bag of fake flies and the hundred 'mood' candles helped us whoop Nyarlothotep!

That, and a white board to keep track of first player. Heh.

Really though, I recommend this to any body who loves this game and Lovecraft in general, it was WAY too much fun.

Thanks for the comment!

Lots and lots of atmosphere, and thats what it's all about!

Harvey Walters had the most eventful game, he kept getting thrown out of places, starting with his beloved Miskatonic U.!

Our Mandy is a little more modest then the lady on the character card, but we do have photos of her posed like the original picture.

Take pictures! We probably took 300! We're going to do another dress up party with two simultaneous eight player games!

(Sadly, i think we just moved into a bigger place JUST so we could do more Arkham Horror stuff, haha.)

I've never played this game, now I don't want to.

Because it deserves to be EXPERIENCED instead.

But it would be extremely anti-climactic to show up, all ready to go, and then... go over the rules...

I hosted a similar AH dress-up event on New Year's Eve, and that's exactly what happened. Consequently, the combination of 6+ players, a bunch of newbies, friends who haven't seen each other in a while, use of the Dunwich Horror Expansion, and alcohol does not make for a seamless Arkham Horror experience (oh, and we died). Oh well. I think most of the folks still had fun and would willing to try it again, so at least it wasn't a total wash.

You're doing yourself a disservice but not playing, though i'm sure this is a diatribe you've heard from many a AH fan before.

We only played the eight player game with the people who had been playing from the beginning.

Everyone new the rules, had 6-7 games under their belt and were THERE to PLAY and get into character.

It can work, and it is awesome.

Well, as I mentioned above, we made sure the eight players had lots of previous experience, and that everyone who was there WANTED to be there and play.

We planned it for a couple months, actually.

And it was enough to get more people interested in playing it more often! So we'll have lots of people ready for the big double game dress up party we're working on!

I wish I had kept better track of the games events and such, but I can tell you we won, and it was "faster" then we expected, especially for Arkham. I think 3 and a half hours of gameplay? That isn't including the snack/drink breaks and photo-ops.

That's because I actually was playing Mandy Thompson, and Jordan neglected to correct that particular one! Hahaha.

Glad you guys are enjoying the pictures. We took SO many.

I've recently purchased a camcorder, so our next geeky venture will be some Arkham Horror short films...

ETA: I was working with semi-professional clothes from my day job, which, since it's at a school, doesn't generally involve a lot of cleavage. I'm still looking for the perfect Mandy Thompson outfit. I'll try to be more true to form next time.
