I'm trying to learn the rules to Alien City. Did I count correctly that yellow gets 41 one points while black gets 233 points?

I score that as yellow 66, black 140 after a quick count.
y 6+30+30=66
b 40+72+28=140
I can't tell what some of the coin pieces are because of the shadows, but this should be close. Hope this helps.

The odds that anyone is still wondering is pretty slim, but I just finished reading the rules (and I can make out the shadowed coins), so I think I'll take a crack at this one, showing all my work, no less! :)

Yellow controlls a Large Green Tower on the left (LG1), a Large Green tower on the right (LG2), and a Large tower at the bottom (LR).

LG1 has 2 customers within 2 lots (the 2 black coins). The piece to the right in shadow is a green crown, and thus doesn't count. The nearest competitor is Yellow's other green tower, at 15 lots away, giving LG1 a score of 30.

LG2 has only 1 customer, the red coin (the coin in shadow next to it is a green crown). It's nearest competitor is LG1, which is 15 lots away, and thus LG2 has a score of 15.

LR has only 2 customers (the blue tower, and the black coin above it -- the one to its right is very distant along the road, and the blue coin is 3 lots away. You only have to go through 2 lots to face the nearest red tower, so the score for LR is 4.

This makes Yellow's score 30+15+4, or 49.

Black controls a Large Blue tower at the top (LB), a Medium Blue tower near the middle (MB), and a Medium Red tower near the middle (MR).

LB has 5 customers (2 red coins, 2 green coins, and 1 black coin). Its nearest competitor is the blue tower in the upper left, 8 lots away. LB has a score of 40.

MB has 9 customers (2 green coins - one's in shadow on the right, 1 green tower, 2 red coins, 2 black coins, and 2 red towers). It's nearest competitor is the blue tower at the lower right, 8 lots away. MB has a score of 72.

MR has 8 customers (2 blue coins - one in shadow on the lower right, 2 green coins, 2 black coins, 1 blue tower, and 1 green tower). The nearest competitor is the red tower above it, 4 lots away. MR has a score of 32.

Black gets both bonuses for the unclaimed green tower. MB is 1 lot away (10-(2x1)=8). MR is 2 lots away (10-(2x2)=6). 8+6=14.

Black's total score is 40+72+32+14, or 158.

If I did happen to calculate wrong, I'd appreciate if you could show where I attributed or forgot to include a customer or lot in the multiplication. This is, after all, my first attempt to figure up a score aside from the example given in the rules.

In the meantime, to reiterate in one line, Black defeated Yellow at a score of 158 to 49, by my count.

No one has posted the correct score.

[A-J for columns; 1-8 for rows]

Yellow player score

Green @ C5: 2 customers * 15 lots = 30
Red @ E8: 2 customers * 2 lots = 4
Green @ J6: 1 customer * 7 lots = 7
No bonus

Total score: 41

Black player score

Blue @ E3: 5 customers * 8 lots = 40
Blue @ G5: 9 customers * 8 lots = 72
Red @ G6: 8 customers * 4 lots = 32
Bonus for E5: 8 for Blue @ G5 + 6 for Red @ G6 = 14

Total score: 158

This is your only mistake. The nearest competitor is the unclaimed Green Tower.
