Now how long did it take you to organize them together like that? lol

Playing with the components a little too long, eh?

Longer than I liked. I started by playing around with the counters on my desk, just to see if it would look any good. I quickly saw that arranging them would look nice, so I made a setup similar to the one in the image above on black cardboard. Arranging triangles is a pain, every nudge will create many crevices. My plan was to shoot a picture of the counters outside. After three days of rain and leaving the counters of the cardboard, the sun finally showed up.

I carefully carried the cardboard with the counters to the table in the garden, moved the table to a sunny spot. Went inside to grab my camera, went out again. Final check before shooting: lighting good, counters still present (think magpies), hands not shaking (coffee drinker), everything looking good, and....%^#$&*%@!!!!

The cardboard had warped from having counters in the center for three days. There was no way I could make a picture without some counters catching sun glare. Could you believe I almost cried?

My girlfriend was helpful though. She kept suggesting things to her frustrated, grumbling photographer.

'How about placing books on the cardboard to get it straight?'
'Can't shoot a picture through a book, they're quite opaque.'
'Can't you place the sheet of glass that's lying on the coffee table on it?'
'It's kinda thick, and then there's another reflecting surface to produce glare.'
'How about using something heavy to straighten out the cardboard?'(did I tell you she's persistent, the sweet creature?)
'It'll mean I have to take everything off, put something heavy on the cardboard, wait a day, and then I'll have to rebuild the setup all over, and the weather will probably suck too.' (Dutch weather...)
'How about using the scanner to make an image?'
'Neh, it'll...wait, what?'

So that's what I did next, carefully placing TI3 counters on a flat surface (again!). By this time I had done that four times already, so I was getting fast. Using the scanner, the image was easy to obtain, in focus, with correct color. I only needed a few tries to get the counters aligned neatly. Cropped the image and here it is!

*cough* (shameless self-promotion)

I'm glad you like the image, that's one of the reasons I like to create and upload images.

One could also jest that this is what the game looks like in activation-heavy game rounds.
