What's interesting is she only acts this way on other's turns. Because on her turn, the moment she is aware of the egg color, she darts her little fingers in and plucks one out (even if it's beneath others) faster than we can say, "Be careful!" and it's over, with only us celebrating.
Yet something about watching others take their turn both unnerves and excites her. Maybe it's because we take longer and it draws out the suspense... I'm not sure. But Gulo Gulo is definitely one of the best game purchases I've made in a long time.
Now if only I can teach her to play "War of the Ring"...

You will . . . you will . . .
. . . and when you defeat the free peoples, reclaim the Ring, and cover all the lands with a second darkness, she'll still do the "Yay Mommy!" victory shout.
My wife wants to know how old your daughter is. We have a 3 year old.
She's almost four, and sweet as can be. I posted this Chess gaming session with her. Chess was her favorite because she considered it "our game," but now Gulo Gulo has easily trumped it.

I misspoke. After that post, I played WotR for the first time. The first goal is that I understand it. So I'd be content to teach her a far simpler game, such as BattleLore or Tigris & Euphrates.

That's exactly the same way my 4-year old plays. I don't understand how he does it, but he rarely loses...
Love the picture! You can feel the tension, then the release of excitement.
My kids definitely are the same way and get excited when you pull an egg out successfully.
They ALSO get excited when the alarm goes off (i.e. when the alarm stick falls over when you pull out the wrong egg, or just fumble horribly). It's not so much that someone messed up, but they love the idea of the alarm and insist on making various alarm/bell/siren sounds at the top of their lungs! Every time! It's the best part of the game for them (short of winning)
This is a great game for kids and adults together because their tiny fingers can easily pull out the eggs and I'm always struggling with grabbing those little round bits.

I would highly recommend you get Gulo Gulo for your 3 year old. It is a blast, especially when you get the grandparents involved. It's crazy how the little buggers reach in, snatch an egg with the tips of their fingers and then hold it up for all to see.
In life you have to do a lot of things you don't fucking want to do. Many times, that's what the fuck life is... one vile fucking task after another.
Simply outstanding photo!
I have a 5 year old boy who acts like this when he helps us play Thebes. Whenever mommy goes to an excavation site to draw tiles you'd think it was Christmas morning and he heard Santa was bringing him a puppy.
