My wife won't really admit it, but it seems every time we play she hits up the wheat. Gets tons of it and builds a ton of cities... Beats me a lot. :-( pwn.
Your pictures show and prove the amazing joy you can get by getting people together in a table and socially interacting (instead of staring at the TV like in a videogame). I've always enjoyed watching people enjoying a game so much they burst out in laughter.
Thank you for your amazing pictures, keep them coming.

I think you're a little biased on that assumption.
Personally, I've seen the "amazing joy" that you can get from play video games. I don't see why you think it is limited to simply board game playing... maybe you just haven't played the right games or don't have the right friends to make such an event memorable.
I think people give video games a lot of crap on BGG when it is just another type of game and shouldn't be bashed by so many people.
Board games and video games both have their unique features, and I like them for both, so why can't they all get along?

Actually, I am an avid video gamer as well. I find that online games like WOW and Xbox Live let me stay in touch with friends living overseas and having a fun social time with them that would be otherwise impossible.
I think board games are great for face to face, but I love video games too and think they can be very social.

My sentiments exactly. My wife laughs a lot during this game, especially when playing a knight card and taking a card from someone and watching their face when she knows that she ruined their plans to build something.

If you play a multiplayer video game and all you do is stare at the TV, you're doing it wrong!... Or you're playing the wrong video game, at least...
But still, I agree that social interaction is a must for any game. I've played with board gamers who treat board games much like you describe video games, and it's no fun at all for me.
