This went to the printers today. So it's final. Inside there aren't many artwork changes, the leg has been tweaked a little to look less like an arm, and the player guide has been doubled in size, both sides are now on the front, with the back being in German.
Fair enough! I posted an earlier version on my blog and my readers there preferred the old one to that version too. I prefer the new one though, and hopefully it'll be more eye-catching on a shop floor.
Yeah I have one of the original numbered editions and I like the old cover better, That being said I can understand where you are coming from with the standing out on the store shelf. Selling products is a very competitive business and a strong shelf facing makes a difference
Liking the old art work better, increases my love of having the 1st edition. I actually probably would have liked to hear more art work inside had been changed. For two reasons; 1st it would have made having a copy of your 1st edition more unique and 2nd it would have made me have an excuse to buy a second copy of your game. Although I think the 2nd may be a good thing it's basically the same.
This is more "weird old man dancing in the sunshine".
Did you not realise that this is Rich's picture of Jack emerging from a game-testing session? He doesn't get to see the sun much. That's me in the background stealing Jack's ideas. It may not the best picture of Yehuda on the right, but there's a lot of personal emotion invested into that new box cover.
Whatever the cover artwork, it won't detract from the fact that It's Alive is great fun, and a must for every game collection.
