It's an extract of the very first scene of the mini-series, just before the opening credits. During about 4 minute, the entire cast takes a pose, standing still, as in a painting (hence the "royal" pose of the king ). The camera pan and zoom among the cast, as the narrator explain the situation, the characters, their motivations...
One of the best fictions that french television ever produced !

Someone found this "inspiring"...and they were so inspired that they came up with the box cover art for Caylus... I just don't even know what to say, except that surely the word "inspiring" must mean something other than what I think it means. And that whomever did the art for this game (along with whomever does most of the art for Mayfair) should have a lawsuit filed against them for lost sales of their respective boardgames.
