Agent X on the right had infiltrated the enemy embassy. Using her encryption tools she unlocked the vault and recovered the evidence of the enemy nuclear armament program. Unfortunately the improved cipher required more computing power than anticipated, and the documents could not be transmitted in time for the world summit. She needed to acquire the faster transmittal channel which had not yet been miniaturized for her toolkit. So she summoned for Agent Y.
Agent Y had been awaiting orders to terminate a spy while waiting in the plaza cafe when he received the help summons from Agent X. He immediately hopped in his sports car and raced to the embassy when he realized he had been tailed. A few carefully placed glycerin bombs on a winding mountain road forced his pursuants off the edge to their death. After deceiving embassy guard with his fluent command of the language, he rendezvoused with Agent X, and together they transmitted the secret documents to the world leaders and thus exposed the enemy government's deceitful lies.
Then Agents X and Y sipped champagne and played Carcassonne on the hood of the car.
The picture is taken the 5th of july this summer when me and my wife got married. I wanted to have a wedding picture that showed my interest in board games and since Carcassonne is one of my all time high it was a natural choice. Unfortunately did we never finish the game, the church was calling, so the capture is maybe not whole truth.
I think if ever i'll propose to do something like that to my girlfriend on our marriage day, she will shout me then leave me immediately :-( you lucky.....
I don't want happiness by halves, nor is half of sorrow what I want. Yet there's a pillow I would share, where gently pressed against a cheek like a helpless star, a falling star, a ring glimmers on the finger of a hand.
Congrats, and it's a great picture. I like the little story and your wife looks beautiful. Best of luck and have many 'meeples'
"Dear, sweet Carcassonne. We've had some good times, haven't we? Well, I'm sorry to say that I've found someone new, so this is the last time I can see you. I hope you can understand and that you know that I'll always cherish the memory of our time together. Farewell, and may life bring you nothing but the best."
"Are you finished yet? Throw that thing in the trash and get your @ in the church already! Oh, will you please stop crying!"
As far as always having time for Carcassonne, I hope that wasn't the case during your honeymoon.
Very cool picture. I am sad me and my wife didn't think about a gaming wedding picture, I think we covered all the other geeky hobby interests but that(I wouldn't trade it for the picture of us entering the reception hall under crossed lightsabres). Of course to be accurate it would have had to be a picture of me crying as she beat me in yet another game of Warmachine.

BorderCon 101 - Bring the fun, bring a smile, grab a game from the pile. Place the Meeple, play a card, swing your sword and kill the guard! So make the trip, don't be docile, look for details on my profile!

So wait you saw the bride before the wedding? Isnt that taboo or something? All the best, Jonathan

Not always in Europe, I just got married in Poland and we met with our parents for their blessing first and then the 2 of us travelled to the venue together.

Simply Brilliant! and a wonderful gesture, the symbolism in the pieces is also very nice, very memorable. I wish you two all the best, and many happy years of Marriage first, and gaming somewhere down the line. I'll show my wife who also loves games (and that one too) that is a one of a kind keepsake you two have there!

Sorry, I'm on her side on this one.
You only say that because you know your girl would go along with an idea such as this...
As for the pictures, congratulations! I hope you enjoy many happy years of gaming together.
I'm just a bit sad to see all the usual whining about people posting a picture that has a girl in it... Girls are people too, you know? They have a right to enjoy gaming too.

There are no comments questioning the species of girls nor their right to play games. Some of us do question if the trolls that thumb every picture of a female view the girls as people or as meat. Every picture that gets posted on here with a girl in it gets thumbed to the top of the heap, simply because of the girl, (and the guys that only see girls on the internet).
I like this picture because of the fun that they are having on their wedding day and sharing their interest in the hobby together. Why guys have to say things like "zooming in on the good parts" just escapes me. To the couple, congratulations and thanks for sharing a moment of you day with us.

Irony escapes you, I see...

Didn't see any comment from you and no reason why you should feel so offended. When some people comment "I've had better pictures rejected" to an image like this, they are demonstrating their inability to even consider that this image may be getting more thumbs because it is a couple playing a game on their wedding day or that that might occur even if the girl were not good looking. It's a bigot position. An assumption that whoever thumbs this image must be some kind of sexual pervert. Or even, god forbid, interested in sex...

Guys (or girls) that only see girls (or guys) on the internet have much more places to go than BGG. Why do you assume that people who thumbed this did so because there is a girl in the image?

I like it because of that too. Hence the thumb. As for the rest, I'll enlighten you. That's why they say it. Because it escapes you...

Bloody wankers!
This is different. It's a wedding picture. It's not a girl at a convention showing some skin to try to sell a game.
Awesome picture and congratulations! This is starting to inspire me to maybe have a meeple be the ring bearer at my wedding?.... hum honey what do you think?

My Portugalistic friend, review your quote. I do not see anyone whining like this. I do see a couple of trolls that can't let a guy have a pretty wife and post a fun picture on BGG. That was my point. I am pleased that this pic is garnering thumbs in celebration of the wedding, not the pretty girl. I find you original statement, and your critique of my response to be irrational and misplaced. This picture is one of the first pictures of pretty girls that deserves thumbs and praise. And what would make it complete is the trolls staying in thier caves, as most have this time.
Maybe this activity could replace a standard American custom of riding around in the limo to random bars for multiple tequila shots on the way to the reception?
Could you imagine registering for games as wedding gifts?! Lucky couple...

I wanted to register them but I was forbidden. So instead we got three fifths of a dining set that we never used once and a shitty picture frame with a heart on it....

be glad you only got one picture frame. we got easily A COUPLE DOZEN!!! most of them still boxed up, never used and probably never will get used. my wife never let me register for ANYTHING I wanted. she had total control over the registries. All I scanned was an overpriced pillow that i snuck in while she was in the bathroom.
if your wife enjoys gaming...... buddy, i'm jealous. from a few months before our wedding until now, i've dropped out of two rpg groups (one i was running), stopped showing up for the weekly gaming group, lost touch with almost all of the people i gamed with and was allowed to show up for the monthly all day gaming sessions for a couple of hours (with my 2-3 year old son). that is still how things are. she does not want me gaming and leaving the house. so, if she likes games, you better chain her down or someone else might steal her. hahahahaha
i was in a hurry and forgot to say that i agreed to forgo the gaming before the wedding to focus all my attentions on the wedding plans. we did everything ourselves to save money. then after the wedding and things settled down, other excuses kept coming up (besides the normal work and family commitments). i'm hoping that once our baby girl gets a bit older, she'll feel comfortable enough to stay home with the kids alone (as long as our son stops throwing his hour long screaming fits). so, i actually put my foot out the door and got nudged through.

I don't mean to speak out of turn, but, I suggest you sit her down, tell her you ARE going out to play RPG's and boardgames, tell her WHEN you are going out to play RPG's and boardgames and if she does not like it she knows where her suitcase is. Marriage is give and take, sounds like at the moment, she's doing all the taking and you all the giving.

Chisel,
That's just sucks! Where do you live in Illinois. If you live anywhere in the western suburbs of Chicago I'm coming over there and bust you out of your jail cell to play some games!!! I'm not kidding!!! Your "WARDEN" will just have to deal with it!!! She's gonna absolutely love me!
read my edit to my earlier post. there were a few things i forgot to add.
but i live on the western side about 6 hours from you. i'm just biding my time. i'll get my revenge when our son turns geek. i'll probably start him on simple games within the year. anything thats helps him count or has colors. i've actually thought about ticket to ride. i've even thought about ordering kid's catan. but one way or another, i'll get my gaming back. i'll definitely game in two months for my birthday. i don't give a rat's butt what she says, it's my b-day and i'm gonna do what i want to this year.

With the baby and all I know things can get a bit tough. I've got two kids but I didn't really get into gaming until the youngest was out of diapers. The two games for kids that I'd recommend are Gulo Gulo and Chicken Cha Cha Cha. Both can be fun for adults as well. If you by chance make it to over to Chicago let me know and we'll try to get a game or two in. Best of luck!
The accomplishment isn't that he got her to pose for a gaming picture (really, married guys, we all posed for weirder shots like that; "hold the flowers here. now here. now smile like you're farting. now smile like she's farting. now, everyone fart!"*), but that he got her to lie down in the wedding dress BEFORE the wedding.
One grass stain and you're in hack for the next decade. Brave man indeed.
*yes, those are direct quotes from my wedding photographer. yes, it worked and yes, everyone was smiling in every picture -- the guy should have been a stand-up comedian.

You're right and than that whole pesky affair of the weddingnight. Don't you just hate how things like that can interfere with your gaming?
