Logitech G25 + rFactor + XtremeRacers = pure sim racing!!!
That's so #f*ck/ng cool that I don't know what else can be said... Great idea, and very great design. My respects Why don't you post a pic with all those in action on the board? It will get a lot of envy, too...
I'm going to have to see how long it takes to make a set...
This is only the first test cast (the rest will be standard painted resin, not copper/cupra/resin)
i'll check it out this weekend coming
Don't change the look! These are perfect, I don't know what the cost differences are between standard and copper resin but I'd buy a set that looks just like the photo in a second.
United Kingdom Under a DVD Collection, Scarborough North Yorkshire
It's so pretty... the Ancients demand that I have seven of them right now! If you are considering selling them I would like to know- it's a work of art!
My pic. of the statue in Boston honoring Robert Gould Shaw and the 54th Mass. Regiment. The movie "Glory" is a must-see!
WELL, add me to the list of the "I'd love to buy some"! And I agree with someone who posted earlier...they look great just the way they are! Nicely done!
If your orange juice doesn't burn on the way down, then you need more vodka!
ughh, why didn't I think of this!! I have all of the stuff to make these too. Great work! I guess I need to re-acquire AH now so I can make myself a set
Image of Gate on Board and Front and Back of Resin Gates (Pre-Undercoated)
I have worked out that I can produce about 5 sets (of 7 gates) in a week. The Gates will come with Grey Undercoat ready for painting. If you wish to have cold-cast bronze/iron or copper, then please tell me, but these will cost more due to material costs.
I will be GM'ing people who have expressed an interest so far, but anyone who reads this is welcome to GM me to put in an order. I will try to give you an estimated time it will be done, and payment will only be accepted by Paypal (so if you don't like paypal, please don't order them, I have had problems in the past with "other" forms of payment not turning up...)
A major problem has arisen (thank Yog I hadn't accepted any orders yet....)
The Resin I am using is a hard resin (all well and good I thought) which means it's quite brittle and smashes when a gate hits the floor....
not so good.
I am going to try to Cast some out of Pewter next, which will make it heavier (and a lot stronger!).
keep your eyes peeled...
sorry for the delay, but I couldn't send these out with the way they are. (they probably wouldn't survive the post!)
You may want to try 2 part cyano acrylate resin, which is made of 2 fluid (waterlike) compounds, sets in 90 seconds, and has a white/beige color once set. It's still hard plastic but not as hard/brittle as epoxy/fiberglass resins. It doesn't heat too much, either (under 100°C) so repeat moulding is easy. The product I know comes from voss chemie an european producer, but alumilite seems to have equivalent items (alumilite white), at about the same rates ($114 for a 2 gallons set, ie a huge lot of pieces ;-) ) Just take into account that you'll need mold 'grease' wax, maybe syringues to help casting, and a lot of time in front of you.
How much do you want for a set? For Arkham Horror, love the game, got all the games and a gameboard in my celler with light under the glas to get a nice invirement =) Can you fix it in metall?
That is excellent news! I'll be interested in a set of holders when you get the production going (although I guess there is quite a waiting list by now).
Wow, just stumbled across this, I take it no one ever got these in? I'd be interested if it ever flares back up. Hell, I bought the custom AH dice and the Lieutenant Minis for Descent, why not some of these?
We've been discussing the possibility of me making some AH gate holders over in the DIY forum. I've posted a couple of images and am soliciting input on the design. Anyone who is interested is invited to join the discussion there.
Hello everyone i will be able to make these for everyone just give me a couple of weeks to make a mold might not be exactly the same as this one. Will post pictures as soon as i get one made thanks
