How do you go about making small wooden boxes like that? Any pointers to a web page article?

What kind of wood did you use? Did you have to use a pressure cooker, or where you able to form the thin sheets with just steam?

Yep you can be right... but i think building your own stuff or, for example, painting your minis have a totally different (and better) effect...

A buddy of mine bought a set of clear plastic containers similar to these at Hobby Lobby. They screw into one another so that they form a 'log' of containers -- unscrew and set on the board.

An option for those without the time/ability to build these very cool looking containers.

At the same Xenos I found a plastic box with twelve compartments. Its size is such that it fits across in the game box leaving plenty of room for the other game material.

Disadvantage: you need to place the tokens on the board yourself.
Advantage: you need to place the tokens on the board yourself, thereby arranging them in neat stacks from which it is easy to pick up one.
