The Jamaica Cards can all be joined together to make one long picture. The picture loops around itself and could be started again. I started with the pirates setting sail and ended with them getting their treasure.

The term to describe pictures divided into multiple panels/sections is polyptych.
There's quite a large number of games that feature a polyptych, see a pictorial gallery here:

It's a work of art! Games that are puzzles: cards with artwork that forms a single picture when combined
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/34803

Jamaica is #7 on the list.

Polyptychs and diptychs are particularly common in Magic: The Gathering, especially on the land cards. For more information and other pictorial examples, see this article:

And it looks like the bits can be put in different orders too. Not only can it be made into one big picture, it can be made into quite a few pictures depending on how you pair the matching symbols. That is to say that as long as you match coin to coin, or cannon to cannon the edges will match and the story will continue. That is very cool.

Best part: When was the last time you saw an original image that was 10389 pixels wide by 451 pixels tall?

There's also a couple of choices on placement. Both sinking ships line up, as do both dock fences.

The sinking ships line up, but the bottom half of those pictures don't, with one forground occupied by a large head, and another by a pirate holding a sword, so I don't think this is a true choice in placement.

The dock fences seem perfectly matched either way, but there's no way to make a complete panoramic picture unless they are aligned as above.

The leftmost seven cards, and the rightmost four cards, above, can each be pieced together to form their own mini-panoramas.

Absolutely stunning work. I don't get tired of looking at this image; so rich with detail.
