They are called minimates, I stumbled on them when I was trying to find the cheapest place to order the board game from. There is an extensive list of them at:

I stumbled on them myself a few days ago at local comic shop and I thought I had discovered the most awesome idea ever. It seems great minds think alike. I'm still on the lookout for a fraking 3d basestar to replace those cardboard things...

These figures feel significantly less solid than a Kubrick figure.
The Kubricks are a little more detailed with less articulation.
I think their main upside is that they have more joints.

They appear to be the same figures used in
Get Bit!

Is that correct?

Actually, those solid-color 'blanks' used in Get Bit! are PALz made by Palisades. They are very similar to Minimates (made by DST) but the hands, arms and feet are different. PALz are no longer produced because Palisades folded about two years ago.

Additionally, the future of the Battlestar Galactica Minimates is in doubt. There are reports that future waves are canceled due to low orders. DST is still trying to figure out a way to get them to market though.

I'd planned on doing exactly this. I collect minimates and was going to post images when I pick up the game...

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought it was a good idea

I am so jealous... the first thing I thought of when I saw the minimates was that I should get a full set for this game! Sadly they proved harder to come by than I anticipated. Glad to know somebody managed to track them all down.

It looks like it would be kind of hard to tell who is supposed to be who.

Especially since most of the characters wear uniforms.

I'm pleased to say I managed to correctly identify each character before I noticed the handy reference at the bottom.
