... they do ship internationally, but I'm sure there'd be someone a little closer to you to make it more cost effective.
They are 3mm timber with a cork backing, heat and water resistant and cost about $AUD3.60 per piece incl shipping! At those prices, I don't think I could afford NOT to get any

Cool Phyll (I may throw some of these in this year with my target's gift in the SS).
Did the company require you to prove you had the image owners consent?
Can someone name the games they're based on? I can see Settlers of Catan in there, but I'm not sure of the rest
In the top row I see what looks like cards from Bohnanza, next to that possibly some sort of Carcasonne (perhaps Hunters and Gatherers). Second row has money from Caylus, then tiles from Caylus, what looks a Galaxy Trucker board, then Hive pieces and finally Mahjong. First one in the fourth row looks like the volcano from Downfall of Pompeii and the third is definitely Reef Encounter. Second last one in the last row looks like the camels from Through the Desert.

What format do they require the images in?
Cheers,

Hey chum.
The company didn't ask about copyright etc
That being said, obviously you want to try and get as hi res as possible and many photo's here on the Geek, while way cool, aren't gonna look that flash when printed. I ended up taking my own version of quite a few photo's already on BGG to be able to get a high enough dpi (I think the minimum I used was about 225, but most around 300) so I can say in good faith in the words of Jane's Addiction "It's mine!" - well, for some of them anyway (most notably for my rendition of Geosmores most excellent Samurai Buddha photo
- I love that pic of his but unfort the version here I wasn't going to look good enough printed so I had to try and mimic the snap then do some Photoshopping to get the backround nice and white etc). Also a fair bit of fiddling with the Mission Red Planet board with airbrushing out the board creases etc.
They accept jpeg, tiff, pdf and photoshop files from memory.
These guys don't do square or round coasters like some other companies I came across do - which is a slight shame I guess, only rectangular - their die cut is 92.5mm x 102mm and they need an additional 3mm bleed all round so that makes it that the artwork should be submitted as 98.5mm x 108mm.
1 to 6 Coasters will cost $5.00 ea plus GST 7 to 50 coasters will cost $3.50 ea plus GST
I submitted 25 different images to them and had varying quantities of each item ordered (some mates got some too) and they were fine with all the fiddling around. Some places I came across while searching for people to print these would only print a minimum of 6 per photo submitted, this mob were happy to do individuals and the quality looks good. Have put them to the test and no probs yet. They also stuffed up the image on one of them and happily sent a replacement and an extra one for good faith, which was nice.

It isn't like he is selling them or anything, he made them for himself. I would be kind of flattered if he were to have picked one of mine for something like this.

One of the reasons I didn't bother about contacting the photo-uploader for images that I used, or images that I based mine upon is that, well, firstly as Brandon has said, it's not like I'm launching a commercial venture or anything - these coasters are just for me and mates over at my place to put their bevvy of choices on for a bit of fun. It's really not that serious.
Secondly, and probably the major reason, I've found that BGGers are a caring and sharing lot - there's a lot of generosity about the place - and we're pretty much here for a bit of fun and we tend to take things in the spirit in which they're meant.
I have always been of the belief that users upload files, images, session reports, reviews etc to share them with their fellow Geeks without much in the way of reservation - that is, they post these items and articles for the use and enjoyment of the wider community.
I honestly believed that no one would have a problem with me using their images for this sort of thing. I'm really sorry you feel hard done by. No stealing of your, or anyone's good work is meant.

Spot on!
We have:
1: Battlecars, Bohnanza, Carcassonne, Carcassonne, Carcassonne H&G; 2: Caylus, Caylus, Galaxy Trucker, Hive, Mahjong; 3: Memoir 44, Mission Red Planet, Pick Picknic, Pillars of the Earth, Pitchcar; 4: Downfall of Pompeii, Puerto Rico, Reef Encounter, Saboteur, Saboteur; 5: Samurai, Settlers of Catan, Through the Desert, Through the Desert, Wasabi
Do not get me wrong, I am not saying you should not do it even though I haven't signed to that kind of image use when I uploaded the pic. All I wanted to say was that you should at least >thumb up< (and not tip) the images that you used. It would just show some sort of appreciation. But that is just my opinion.
Maybe the fact that I got a few geekmails from users letting me know that they would like to use my pic in their geek-lists got me sort of spoiled.

That's neat; not only did you implement a great idea, but you also presented them in the photo in alphabetical order. (A good case can be made for the placement of "(Downfall of) Pompeii".)

Best, m
Hey no probs.
I actually thought I'd thumbed all the images I'd used.... I know I can be a lot slacker than I should be at showing my appreciation (have recently resolved not to be so slack) so after your first post I subsequently went into your Wasabi photo to see if I'd thumbed it - I hadn't - so I gave it the as I think it's a beauty, along with the others that I used. Now I'm going to have to go and make sure I've done the right thing by all the others.....

Until you have a Twilight Imperium coaster, I cannot give this picture a thumb.
Great idea!! Anyone know of a good "mob" here in the states that will do this??
Snapfish will sell you 6 for 25 dollars (without shipping). You can choose six different pictures or all six the same. You have to create an account to do so, but can then upload as you wish.
Shutterfly has 4 (with different photos) for 20 bucks.
Walgreens online has the same deal as Snapfish. The prices look about the same from the major photo producing websites. I did not go through the entire process to see if they deal with copyright issues.

Good Job on the coasters btw
Ah yes...our Prime Minister drops the s***bomb line and everyone feels free to use it.
Sorry Aussie joke.
Thanks Phyll for the info. Looks like I'm screwed then because I don't have the skill to take a low res shot let alone a high quality one.
For those in the UK interested in doing this, Tesco are currently putting photos onto coasters for £4.99 for 6 coasters, or £2.49 for 2. Half the normal price.
I havn't checked to see if that price is for the same image on all or if you can have different images on each one.
