Wonderful shot for a cell phone camera and I like the detail on the table. The shot also has a cloudy feel like the sub has a room on fire, which I'm sure it does.
Subjectively, image quality is not the be-all and end-all of a good shot. This captures the moment and is an excellent image.
Yes, you are absolutely right! I just wanted to say, that this shot would be even better with a little more quality. But i really love the explanation given by armed-medic:

He, the photographer, had just died in the reactor room preventing imminent disaster. He was burnt to ashes... If not he wouldn't have taken this pic. He and another comrade gave their lives som that the rest of the crew (me included) could survive. The irony is that we didn't make it in the end anyway. One of the crew betrayed us all and left us to die a gruesome dead...

That's right See the empty chair on the left side of the table? That was my place... Until the catastrophic fire
...and armed-medic: The sub actually had several rooms on fire...
Bjorn, that's an amazingly cool picture. Well done and one of my new favorites - It's not of game components, meeple giddiness, or cute women with cleavage. This one's down in the thick of it and submersed in atmosphere.
How did you decide to take the image? Are you on a balcony?
"Little did the five conspirators know that just a few blocks away the traitorous sixth member of thier band was giving the G-men all the information needed to bring a swift end to what historians would later name: The Red November Heist."

Thank you, and thanks to all others that complemented me on the picture!
The picture was taken at our gameclub, "BrettVett" (see www.brettvett.blogspot.com). This night we played co-op games, starting with Red November. At this point me and one other player was out of the game, because we were in a room that caught fire, none of us had a fire distinguisher, and all the hatches were closed. So the two of us decided to give Pandemic a chance (a game I now LOVE, by the way). We went up to the next floor, and I don't know the correct word in English, but I guess you could call it a balcony. Looking down on the others, I just had to take a picture. Actually had to take two or three to get a good (enough) picture...
