Very nice picture!

There appears to have been a pretty extensive artwork update. It's now a lot less "cartoony" than the original - I think I prefer this style, but I'm sure there are plenty of others that would disagree.

The wooden pieces and the thickness of the track sections appear the same as the original, but it's impossible to tell without doing a direct side-by-side comparison.

The "Big Paws" token is still in the game, which is awesome.

It also appears that they modified the player boards slightly:

-The "spinners" appear to be gone, so they'll have to be manually turned if you need to reorient them to match the direction you're going. The spinners were a neat gimmick, but not really necessary.

-The single "sliding" brake markers have been replaced with a series of numbered tiles. That means a few extra bits in the box to sort out, but more importantly it eliminates the potential for the brake to be bumped (accidentally or not) to a different value - especially when the board is being moved around or rotated.

Yes, the graphics are much more realistic. I do like them a lot.

Actually I liked the old graphics better. With these graphics it looks like a modern day racing event. The old graphics had a Jack London's wild and unexplored Alaska...

Looks like a computer rendered image...
I also like the old style... the new style is too much like every other race game out there.

Funny that for a game named "Snow Tails" the pictures on the cards only show the head and torso of the dogs - There's no tails.

Overall I like the new look, but then I'm also quite happy with the look of the original I have now.

I do like the new brake indicator. The old one was bumped out of place too easily. At least if the new one is bumped it should still be clear what the number was.

Removing the spinner on the sled is good too. While it can be useful to turn the sled to help orient your movement and avoid mistakes, it was never difficult to do that without the spinners, and the spinners keeps the sleds from sitting flat against the table.

All that matters is that I can finally own it and not pay $100.

The only thing I really liked better in the old graphics is the back of the cards.
A nice Artwork of a Husky instead of the Blockbuster-like title of the game.
