Why does Conan always have to rock the "Bettie Page" hairdo?
The most important thing about Conan for you is his hairdo?
Also, like every guy of sufficient metalness, he built an altar to the late miss Page (Mine's a flag hung above the couch) and swore to honour her memory in his hair.
If memory serve me right (and it's a bit dodgy at the best of times) I think Howard describes Conan thus 'His square-cut mane of raven-black hair...' or something like that.
Usually followed by,'...framed an iron-hard face, tanned brown from years under the open sky, volcanic blue eyes smouldered with barely contained rage as his gaze swept across the lines of the imperial forces arrayed against him. The carrion birds of the plains would feast well tonight.'
Well, something along those lines anyway - I've always wondered about his haircut but it's the way he is described and most of the great artists that have portrayed him have painted him that way.
