Someone should upload photos of the new demon princes next to the old ones. Creeped up about an inch in only two editions! My midget demon model thanks you, GW!

Yeah, I wanted Terms for my Space Crusade game. I could only really use the 1st (or 2nd, apparently) ed. variety. I lucked out when my friend handed me a box of original Terms! I have since picked up a Wolf hero to use as my Librarian. Joy!!!

The biggest scale change overall might have been from the 1/1.5 edition to the 2nd. Rogue Trader-era Mk6 armor space marines ("beakies") were smaller than than 2nd ed Catacatchan Imperial Guard, and that was only one edition difference. Vehicles are probably the best example of scale creep, though it's pretty clear that the RT/Vehicle Manual era models were never really to the same scale as the infantry figs.

Yeah the beaky marines were really small. Their arms were close to the size of the current fantasy skeleton arms. I have a few beaky heads on some mutants I converted years ago.... I've had a couple younger players ask me if I made them because they couldn't believe SM heads were that size/shape

Seeing the 1st Ed Terms and Librarian brings back memories of the "Terminators and Tyranids" plastic box set, which is where I got mine. Those were the days.

OK, so this isn't a new 'pimped' family for Agricola. Thank goodness.

Weren't the genestealers the longest running 40k plastic set, birthed in space hulk and unchanged up until their last 'nid relaunch in 2005?

I'm not sure. I only know the 40K universe through Space Hulk/Crusade, but I know there's at least two other Genestealer sculpts available, three if you count the very minor variation on the one with Space Crusade (nearly identical to the ones in Space Hulk, the two arms that have to be glued on are a little bit different).

I really liked the look of the beaky Marines and the odd-style missile launcher (big half-moon shield).

Please...
please someone...
Do a price comparison... Just for a laugh!

Just divide the original price by the number of figures in the set.
I think there were about 30 figs in the original Space Hulk (10 vs 20) but I am not sure how many came in that Terminators and Tyranids set... It was quite a few... Space marine scouts, terminators, tyranids and genestealers, was it not?

Lets talk about "Price Creep"!
