Your wife is absolutely right - why don`t you display this in your living room?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
You've obviously never been married or have found and managed to woo the one reasonable woman on the planet.
In her defense it is about 3'-2" x 3'-2" (1+m x 1+m) so it takes up some space. Also, Traditional Southern Values dictate that grown men aren't supposed to be playing games any more. So it would be socially unacceptable to dislay this in the house.
I used rigid insulation board for most of this project (pink foam). for the field I reinforced it to make it more durable. I drew the pitch on the foam as a grid then I punched crosses into the foam on the grid line intersections using a phillips head screwdriver. I applied (with brush) a heavy coat of dark gray latex paint to give it a harder surface and protect against minor wear. Then I applied a layer of Woodland Scenics blended turf using plain old Elmers glue. I painted on the lines and logo with acrylic paints and gave it a heavy layer of matte finish once everything was dry.
Are the things that look like stacked milk grates a permanent part of the setup?
No. Those are just what it happens to be sitting on in the garage. Considering it's size it is actually pretty light and can be transported by two relatively easily.
WOW! That's fantastic! I'll grab my Lizardmen & Skaven teams & be right over! That is the best layout design I have EVER seen! You are not crazy--you are a craftsman! My hat is off to you, sir! You have created a shrine to my favorite two-player board game ever designed.

I'm an Architect by trade, so that means a lot. Thank you.
And thanks to everyone else too for such an awesome response. The kind words are very much appreciated. I'm glad I decided to post this.
BorderCon 101 - Bring the fun, bring a smile, grab a game from the pile. Place the Meeple, play a card, swing your sword and kill the guard! So make the trip, don't be docile, look for details on my profile!
If your wife ever does the unthinkable...I am up for a 2nd marriage. Awesome stadium.
I am maried for 22 years and know my wife since I am 14 years old.
Seriously...congratulations on that. Does she play Blood Bowl? Mine wants nothing to do with it. I even tried the classic, "but honey...they have an Amazon team that's all women" line.

Thanks - seriously! She doesn`t play Blood Bowl - but neither do I . But our living room sometimes looks like a games workshop with DIY boards and pieces all over, so I guess, she wouldn`t mind to have this outstanding piece of craftsmanship and art hanging upside down from the ceiling or something like that ...
"A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play, his labour and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation." LP Jacks
Just astounding!
I love the ads, the statues on either side of the entrance, the aged look.. I was never very interested in playing this game, but I would love to play it on that field.
great stadium, i've often thought of using my 40k terrain skills to make a bloodbowl stadium but haven't got around to it, looks like you have though nice job!
Wow, impressive! This can happen when the local football teams doesn't make the playoffs. Just tell your wife if the Titans were more competitive you wouldn't have had to do this! Oh and I'm sure she's got an abundance of shoes in the closet... probably all orderly arranged! LOL
Now you got me wondering how you play a game there without damaging the minarets on the top of the stadium???

Itching for a game of BB now! Damn!!!
I don't know what you're talking about as the Titans had the best record in the NFL last year (damn those intolerable Ravens for ruining our run). However, you are correct about the shoes...what is that anyway?
To answer your question, the trick is to not flail your arms about like a lunatic when performing your actions. Worse case scenario is that one of the braziers pops off. Then I would just have to glue it back on. The rest of it should be stout enough to handle a minor blow.
Go to fumbbl.com if you can't find a local game. It will hold you over.
Interestingly, when I saw this thumbnail on the front page my first thought was that there was water and reflecting involved (because of the stacking and coloring of the crates I think)
This is EPIC! Sir, you are made of the stuff of Legends.
My Wife also lacks the genes necessary to appreciate my fondness for painting tiny pieces of plastic and creating elaborate play areas for enjoying them. (But I keep her around anyway because she looks so damn good in the jeans she does have!--Among countless other reasons).
I have the same problem with my wife.... I had to sleep in the garage with the boardgame...and she understood....jajaja bad Joke.... and good looking .....I mean superb when are You gonna do a GARAGE SALE....
