So when are you planning an "activating" her and "deploying" her "cargo".
Er... when's the baby due?
The baby was due June 13th, so we're over a week past - it could happen any day now! This game took place on May 30th when she was still a couple weeks out.
We're playing with a multi-galaxy map... see the next picture for the full board. I decided to try it so it would be easier for everyone to reach their home systems without standing up - not that standing up frequently during TI3 is necessarily a bad thing!
great picture - she is truly blossoming in her pregnancy! love it
does she normally play such games with you?
Yes, she does enjoy playing AT games (or "games with killing" as she calls them) but we usually don't have enough time for those. (Her favorites in this category behind TI3 are War of the Ring and Fortress America.) We do play a lot of the shorter European-style games - lately we've been getting into Ingenious. Some of her favorites are Carcassonnne, Pandemic, and Settlers.
It's not the fact that you have a picture of a woman playing TI3 that I don't believe.
It's that your wife let you post a picture of her 9 months pregnant on the internet.
My wife would have killed me if I would have tried a stunt like this.
I dont have any fetish or such but I truly believe pregnant women are beautiful, his wife is no exception and Im sure your wife wasnt an exception either.

Very true indeed! I became a father exactly 6 months ago today (dec. 24th). I can therefore confirm this...
Since it's June 24th now and your wife was a week late on the 22nd, I hope you are now happy parents of a healthy little one (hopefully without her having to endure induced labor). Anyway, congratulations and kudos to her for being a good sport. Also, cheers to Ameritrash fun !

Actually we're still waiting. We're using a midwife and they will typically let mothers go to 42 weeks if there are no risks to the baby (which there aren't so far for us.) We have seen some signs of early labor in the last day though, so we're hoping it will happen soon.

Gotcha, sounds like you're about as prepared as you can be. Well, the moment is creeping ever closer. It's been a while for me, my only child is fourteen now (and loves all types of board games ). Best wishes to all three of you!!!
You sure are tall, you are like a giant. What lands to you come from? Are you in the NBA?
Unfortunately I am not in the NBA... but if I was I would use my influence to lure children away from watching TV and video games toward playing sports and board games. I would also have a really sweet game room.
The bottom line is that most of us regret not being a woman (nobody's perfect).
The usual excuse is how great it would be to be pregnant and give birth.
But I guess the real reason is (at least if like me you live in France) that you would get a multi-months leave of absence for pregnancy and therefore you would have a little chance... to actually finish a game of TI3!!!
Great pic, I wish all the best to the mother and baby. As usual the father is always totally forgotten in these cases (even in France). Don't reply, I have 4 kids, I know... (and yes, they have more time than I do playing TI3, stop making annoying remarks please )
"Win if you can, lose if you must, but always CHEAT!!!"
I have a two month old now who ran 15 days past his due date, and I hope that all goes well for your partner.
Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, and having a partner who digs TI3 is an uber-beautiful thing. If I could pass on one piece of advice (of which I'm sure you'll be receiving plenty over the next few years!!!!) Buy some robust ear defenders!!!!

Who is "us"? And why on EARTH would anyone actually REGRET being unable to press a watermelon out of their body under traumatic pain? I can hardly imagine the confession on an old mans deathbed: "The greatest regret in my life is that I never irreparably damaged, stretched and potentially ruptured my primary sexual organs while involuntarily emptying my bowels in front of a room full of strangers. All the while hoping for the sweet embrace of death in the tiny spark of my sanity that wasn't drowned in agony. The worst thing about it is my deplorable lack of a biological clock that would have compelled me to willingly undergo this torment. Oh, I also never put my dick in a meat grinder and haven't played monopoly in years, that's pretty sad too." While I'd like to be a woman for a day, just to slut out and see how sex from a womans perspective feels and how the amazing female power of mind-enslavement really works, "the wonder of giving live" is by all accounts the absolute low point of having girl parts.
Nonetheless, my congratulations to the soon-to-be(or already?) parents, may your child be fine and your nights as quiet as they can be

Ah, I see someone else writes Shakira's lyrics too!
Our baby was born this morning at 12:43 AM! Her name is River Grace. She weighed exactly nine pounds and is 21.25 inches long. She and her mother are both doing wonderfully - thanks to all for the well wishes! We will most likely be at the hospital for a couple more days, but I ran home to check on the cat and wanted to take a minute to leave an update.
And best wishes to you and your new family. I'm very glad everything went smoothly. Just FWI though, a over baked baby is a destined to be short. Watch the below the belt shots begin. She should be 5 months now right?
Thanks! She's actually 16 months old right now because this picture is from 2009. Also, she is in the 95th percentile for height. That was expected though because I'm 6'1" and my wife is 5'10".
We're also expecting our second child right now! My wife is due in April so the siblings will be about 22 months apart. We'll find out in a few weeks if our family will balance out genderwise or if I'll remain outnumbered.
