I'm still rather cautious of this title. In my opinion Middle-Earth and walking around killing monsters, gaining XP and items just doesn't match well. But then again, I'm a Tolkien purist, so I am biased. I'd like to check it out, but I'm in for a dissapointment. Bloody fan-fiction...
Your microbadge says you love all games, yet you call yourself a Eurogamer? MICROBADGE LIAR!
Got me! I will give a clarifying note: I love all games, but my lasting favorites generally are Eurogames.
EDIT: If someone asked "Do you want to play Middle-Earth Quest?", I would reply "ABSOLUTELY!" If someone asked me "Would you be interested in playing 'Spock at the Galactic Public Restroom'", I would say "AFFIRMATIVE!"

I'm a Tolkien-nut myself, and that sounds incredibly fun!!! Granted, it's easy for game designers to go too far, but LotRO did a pretty good job, I think FFG can as well

Ever played the Middle Earth Collectable Card Game (the non-movie one)? That was walking around Middle-Earth, killing monsters, gaining VP and items. It was dead-on fun and pretty much required Tolkien-purism (and ME-Lore) to play - so no contradiction in my book.
