The problem with customised 3D jobs like this is that they are so damn cool you wouldn't want to play anything else.

Gorgeous! We really need a drool emoticon.

The biggest problem with 3D maps is they don't match the game maps. They look cool, and playing anything other than a mapped out board game they'd work well, but looking at this map, I have no idea which scenario this board is from :/

It's not "from" any scenario. With 3D Space Hulk, the idea is not to recreate the scenarios, it's to create a convention "extravaganza" -- a huge battlefield that has the feel of a sprawling hulk, with room for multiple players per side.

When I played it (not at a GW event, so details may vary), about half the players were given a squad or two of Terminators, the other half were given Genestealers to run, and the mission usually was just to try to get some Terminators from one side of the board to the other. Space Hulk being the bloody game that it is, players who got wiped out were allowed to get back in the game by giving the gamemaster a dollar or two, which got them a new set of figures recycled from the dead pool.

If you like Space Hulk, it's the ultimate way to play! Fun factor may depend on how well the GM designs the board (the 3D setups I've seen are modular or can otherwise be randomized).

Alarm? Oh, that would just be a slight malfunction, nothing to worry about. We have everything under control, I know there are many rumors on the loose, but this very minute we have professional men and women taking care of our security. I know there were a slight outbreak of some sort of vermin some time back, but that is fixed. Did I mention we have everything under control and you can get back to your regular activities, supper will be served according to schedule.
