Yet, hardly those are enough, or the appropriate miniatures for Arkham horror, i bought them for it and tried to paint them like they were the characters from the game, but there wasn't so much a similarity with the characters, so i gave up and just painted them all. We started using those miniatures, by picking whoever was much like the heroes from AH and eventually we gave up and started using the paper counters again (much to my disappointment) (at least i'm quite happy that we play quite often Arkham Horror, the guys like it quite a lot, we have all the expansions except the last one:Innsmouth) So i started writing, and i have actually finished a "make your own investigator" expansion that we still just haven't playtested, when someone has written his own investigator he will be able to pick a miniature to resemble his investigator. Alternative i can use them for the Call of Cthulhu RPG.
The miniatures are from the excellent range of "Gangsters" from copplestone castings, they are really very nice 28mm miniatures, clean and very detailed, even without actually using too much those miniatures i was quite happy painting this 1920's era minis.
Oh that's just great. Now I have to spend a ton of money. These are the best Pulp era minis I have ever seen. They have Nick Charles AND Asta!!!! What with me about to start a Pulp Savage Worlds campaign.....
Well if u wish to go down the path of madness that follows beyond what copplestone castings has to offer check out these pulp mini sites:
Pulp Miniatures by Bob Murch! (Best imo, with Copplestone Castings a close 2nd) Lots of Villains/Henchmen (bob murch also did call of cthulu line for rafm miniatures) Brigade Games Historicals and Adventure Artizan Miniatures: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang line, Thrilling Tales
Killer B Games, Hydra Miniatures, are also good too
"Wargames foundry" also product some very fine "modern" era miniatures, i liked them a lot - so... i actually bought some 60-80 of em' painted half of them, still half of them i guess needs painting.
Where the hell does LOGIC fit into any of the insane monsters we've been seeing lately? It makes no LOGICAL sense whatsoever! Grab your shotgun and the dynamite and lets get in the car, already!!"
duh... well i was referring about to the fact that monster figures in arkham horror would have some - practical problems, including their cost (because they are also too many with all those expansions) Im quite sure that you understand but about: practical problems im also refering to the need that the monster's base should also include some notes about the monster, should they be painted on the base? its movement pattern, combat notes etc.
but really i think all that stopped me about taking the cthulhu monsters too is the cost. i would have found a way.
I just wish that FGG would some day publish some "miniatures expansion" for arkham horror,
Do you know there is a software tool to design investigators? It is not difficult to design you own ones. I would provide a link, but I forgot the name of the tool.
I cringe at the reaction these characters are inviting by walking on the Old Ones' lawns.
Now I'm picturing Cthulhu glancing out his living room window looking all pissed off because Yog-Soggoth and Nyarlathotep are playing badminton on the front lawn again.
yes, I've seen it, first thing it came to my mind was if my project was an inspiration to publishing miniatures for AH, one thing for sure is that im going to get them... all... since as i said before the miniatures i ended up with don't match with the investigators in the game. I just wish they would publish more investigators with every/box/month, two seem too few to cover all the investigators in the expansions.

This is a fantastic idea! You'd think this would be a no-brainer for a company like FFG who is very big on quality components and their love for miniatures (have you seen how many come in the WoW boardgame?)
about FFG and miniatures for arkham horror, the best thing they should have done - instead of the pre-painted 2 minis in every box attempt they were going to make before some time - yes they did tried to make minis for AH - they should have done a miniatures package with unpainted plastic miniatures - much like the minis for talisman, one package for every expansion maybe, and even a "monsters" - or multiple monsters - package?.
as i wrote above, the miniatures are not exact for the characters of the boardgame, some may look like them but you wont find the exact miniatures for every character in my collection.
Actually i started at first to try and color them like the AH characters but later it proved not easy to find a miniature for every character - i also got all of the expansions for the game and this means a hell lot of characters.
You may try to find exact matches or close enough to the characters by looking in copplestone castings catalogue and in other 28mm miniature producers.
