I only know small details about this board.

Three Diplomacy boards like this were made: one was auctioned at Origins, one was auctioned at GenCon, and the last is owned by the TD of GenCon's Diplomacy Tournament. Each power is made from a different type of wood. The game board also separates from the "legs" below. The board is "saved" for the Championship Round of the Diplomacy tournament on Saturday night.


Aside from Ian Cooper's perfect board, this is my favorite Diplomacy set.

...but why use such a beautiful board when somebody is just going to get angry when a treaty is broken and throw everything across the room anyway?

That's a fantastic board! Good thing no ToTAN fans are around to tell you the sea should be blue because they can't tell land from sea otherwise.
