Jesus Christ! It's a lion! (ok - so I know there is little shot of this getting through the mods, but my cat Pokey did jump into the gamebox at the exact moment I drew the "Lion" encounter card. The happy coincidence demanded that a picture be taken.)
Someone needs to do a remake of the "I'm on a boat" video for cats ... "I'm in a box, motha*****!"
* WARNING -- Explicit Lyrics *
For the uninitiated, the "I'm on a boat" video is a jab/spoof of the rap vids that feature folks on a boat for no other reason than the fact that being on a boat seems somehow cool in a rap video.
Great picture. I really do understand why so many geeks here get tired of seeing cats in boxes, but as a cat lover, I can't get enough. I want to see all my favourite games with my cat friends.
Naww, cats are everywhere, but especially the places they're not supposed to be One of my cats always starts meowing and scratching on the door whenever I'm in the bathroom demanding that I let her in..
And when I first got Arkham Horror and set it up on the table in the living room she had to lie down ontop of the board and play around with the inspectors, clues and portals, when I took her down from the board, she'd sit on one of the chairs, and as soon as an inspector or token was close, she'd raise her head and descreetly hit it with her paw. Oh and the dice, when I woke up the day after the board was a mess, the dice where missing and I eventually found them scattered all over the floor..
I had many Guns of August and Russian Campaign games lost to the cat. We'd stop play and leave the game out to come back later, close the door, and somehow, we'd always come back to find the cat sleeping in the middle of the game board, with counters and pieces everywhere!
And of course, when the cat saw us coming, she knew she was in trouble and engaged the four claw drive to escape, thereby sending the board and pieces flying everywhere.
I don't think I have ever completed a Guns of August campaign game.
Funny picture! I see we're not the only ones that left the cat with their claws. I stumbled down the steps once carrying a game in progress of Gettysburg: Badges of Courage because I "thought" the kitty was on my heals. Turned out, I just stumbled on my own The horror... pieces and carnage everywhere.
I haven't had a game destroyed by my felines for many years now. All thanks to the fact I don't let them into the room I'm playing in. (They have their own toys)
However, when I'm browsing the net, the cat used to insist on sitting on the desk, playing with the mouse and attempting to claw me whenever I try to type anything. It took me some months but I was able to train him not to. (Now all he does in my room is either sleep on the bed, or nudge me to pet him more and more)
