Why is everybody so sure that there is wine in the glass?
Well, it *is* a wine glass... but I guess that doesn't mean anything. Anyway, there are folks trying to ban the depiction of alcohol in BGG pics?
Wow... I'm glad I missed those threads.
I'm glad, either. And I am glad that there are others in BGG, normal and health people, that don’t mind to see women, liquor, pets, like me and you… No beautiful women, no alcohol, no pets, no fun... Soon some people will want to ban racial minorities, homosexuals, poor people, bald people, fat people, ugly people, women, democracy, free speech, and so on…

We'll take the blacks and the chinese but we don't want the irish.
Disclaimer: I'm Irish and married to a black woman, 3 mixed kids. and its a quote from blazing saddles.
I don't know what to think about the discussions trying to ban pictures with alcoholic beverages from the geek.
But anyhow, in this case here: Why is everybody so sure that there is wine in the glass? Judging by the color it could very well be water.
(If that pic was taken in russia I wouldn't rule out wodka either... )
Well then they need to deleted all references to games like Cuba where you purchase and sell alcohol, lest such a ban would be hypocritical. I wonder if any sugguesting such a protest will play Cuba......
Same thing with game pictures with women in it. Until BGG deleted all reference to Busen Memo all my pictures I contribute will have my wife (my main gaming partner) in them adn take no crap about it.
What if, as in this case, the picture of a female was posted by a female?
Do you see how silly this argument becomes? All these arguments or comments I've read over the last month that people post pictures of games with females to get thumbs...
Where are all of those commentators now? Let's hear about how a this picture was posted just to get thumbs and that it has nothing to do with gaming, because the game only takes up a third of the total picture.
How about we make a rule that pictures with females can only be posted by female members? How about pictures of wine glasses can only be posted if they are empty? Or if the poster made the wine glass themselves and posted the picture to show their handiwork?
"Sometimes game rulebooks are meant to be used as a guide - not chiseled into stone tablets as scripture. If using a specific rule makes a game more fun for you, then it is not only your right - but it is your duty to change it." --Rob Bell
“My opinion is that a game has its own life when published, and is really alive when players want to add their own house rules!” --Bruno Cathala

Great idea! But wait - what about cats?

No! Pictures with wine glasses can only be posted by wine glasses themselves! BTW empty glass is worse than full - full is just a potential. Empty is pure crime.
Wow - I hadn't logged on for a few days and I come back to find all this?!?
I love that people are enjoying the images! but I must say I am amazed that having a woman in the photo has stirred up so much debate (not to mention the beverage).
When I took the photo I was fully focused on photographing the puck in mid-air (along with the targets), and the fact that I captured it was the only reason I posted the photo. (Well, that and the fact we all had a great time and I wanted to share it - for the record, the woman in question had her turn with the catapult and was a fearsome shot.)
Maybe someday gaming will reach a point where females in photos will be so common people will look at the game instead.

Nice pic!
Things actually are cooler around here. Check out the thread on this one of my wife where she actually has more clothes on than "normal" (the additional of the scarf for the pic).
People got down-right nuts about a woman appearing in a pic, but as you can see some common sense patrons have been confronting such illogical and short-sighted attacks and my current one on the front page has taken a lot less flack for it. It is a good sign for sure.
