Scratch and claw just to make sure?
Also what did you paint the figures with to get the shadowed affect? It really adds to them. I don't have any artistic skill to paint my models but this looks to be within my ability!

Take some water based flat black paint (or earth in this case) and really water it down. Like a 10:1 Water to paint ratio, or so. In fact it's easier to start the other way. Take a shot glass of water and add a touch of paint, you can adjust the mix as you experiment. Then paint the figure. The watery paint will just run into the crevices and nooks while leaving most of the figure untouched. If you don't like the way it looks it's fairly easy to undo.
