This great looking board is the reason I still get excited about board games after all these years... I hope the rules and mechanics stand up to the same level!
My guess is that there's a red guy on the walls who should be back conjuring spells or healing people or some such. Either that or there's a green guy on the walls who should be back conjuring spells or healing people or some such. Looks like a round/cylindrical wooden piece. Red one's to left center of castle (defender's perspective) and green one's to right.
This is my "official" guess. My unofficial guess is that there's an ant crawling across the central courtyard.
David is right! The components of Invader (cards with invader actions, all his tokens, bag with 200 cubes etc.) are on the board side of Defender! Cannon tokens, trap tokens and other Defender stuff are on the other hand on the side of Invader
