Umm... no matter how fast cards fly past the lens, they are still solid objects. You would not be able to see through them as if they were transparent!

I spy a Photoshop trickery.
There's definitely no photoshop trickery here. You can partially see through the cards because it's a long exposure (1/10 second or so - I'll pull out the original photo, and check the EXIF info), with a (second curtain sync) flash being used to freeze the action at the end of the exposure.

The EXIF for the original photo indicates the shutter speed was 1/13 seconds. The movement of the card during that time was captured as a blur due to the ambient light.
With the second curtain sync flash occurring at the end of the 1/13 seconds, the flash lit up and captured the cards as you see them.
You can see through the cards, because of what the sensor captured during the 1/13 seconds before the flash fired, and before the cards were actually in that position.

As Martin explains it's how cameras work.
You can try this trick by setting the shutter speed to a long time ( 30 secs for example ) then stay in front of the camera for 15 secs and then leave for the other 15 and you'll be see through.

Along with a nice smear where you entered/exited the FoV.
