I'm guessing it means if she gets smacked in melee, she can force a reroll, and maybe will get a better result.

In melee each zombie and survivor have a set number of d6 rolled for melee (melee dice).

All involved roll melee dice at the same time against each other. Beck can have one opponent reroll 1d6 to get a better result.

I think the OP is trying to point out that there's a word missing - shouldn't it read "require her adversary TO reroll"?
