Hah!

Maybe cute cover gimmicks will sell more games. I'm sure the target audience will absolutely love it.

It's worked for Alea for years. Of course, in both cases, the games are pretty dang good, too.

I'm going to hazard a guess that Henkka was just demonstrating a very dry (and sarcastic) sense of humour. Dry like the themes of these games.

Oh, snap!

I dunno... maybe if you fantasize about being stuck at church for 11 hours during the renaissance, or missed your shot at being an extra on the YMCA danceline- all these 'bleeding europonces bore me sh!tless.

[And, the 1830 cover is as inspired as a clean victorian handkerchief- the singular, worst component of the game.]

Well, it would take them hiring people who can actually draw if they are looking for traditional, "naturalistic" depictions of people... terrible paintings, and not a very good attempt at unifying the series graphically, either. An attempt, better than no attempt, but kind of a lame one at that.

It's just the Graphic Design that ties 'em together. I think different artists are nice. I kind of wish all my games went together like that, so m' lady would have less to roll her eyes at.

Those aren't mere persons. They're Barons! See how they float like gods over us mere mortals?

Edit: probably one of the very few times we'll see 18xx in the "hot pics" section (I believe the first/last time was with 18EZ, right?)

It was #5 on the hotness... Briefly. The Scott Nicholson pic was on the front page for a while.

I suspect Mayfair's own upcoming game will generate quite a bit of interest next year. Look for those pics on the front page.

Are you referring to Vanderbilt, Gould, and Morgan, or Scott Nicholson?
