Any details on how you made this board?

Looks like you are playing in 6mm? Are these the GHQ 6mm terrian tiles?

My guess is that these are the Terrian Maker Tiles from GHQ: http://www.ghqmodels.com/store/military-models-terrain-maker...

Still pretty impressive as you assemble them yourself, and look to be darn expensive.

Seriously: This kind of craftmanship requires a more sofisticated system than Memoir 44.

I don't know about that. Memoir '44, while not "sophisticated" is a fine game and great fun. This guy obviously loves the game so why should he be "required" to spend his efforts on something more "sophisticated" that he might not even like?

To Kriegspiel: Great pic and great work on the scenery!

Yeah! Why not bring the ASL counters and its five-thousand pages long rulebook and let the "fun" begin!

Now, seriously, I agree the board has great potential for a more complex wargame, specially if combined with nicely painted miniatures (even for ASL! ), but Memoir'44 is also great!

Outstanding job Kriegspiel, by the way.

But the tiles would need to be stackable to accommodate Heroscape.

They look flat enough that the units could probably sit on top of them without much problem.

The attention to detail in this work is scary. Imagine what this guy could do if he'd get in his head to make a cruise missile and a nuke...

kidding, great work Kriegspiel!

In fact it is not "real" tiles.
I used plates of styrofoam and carved them with soldering iron.
They cannot be separated...
The river was curved with a knife.
Then I paint everything in green, but I stick different type of flocking powder and grass mat.
for the houses, I cut them in a wood stick with square section and use "plastic corner for walls" to make the roof.
Make sure there is enought room for an armor between 2 !
The forests are made out of lichen.
The hexes have a 10cm diameter and I left everytime 4 places where the lichen is not thick, therefore the infantery units stand up.

for closer look just check:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/622149/memoir-44

This board may be used for Squad Leader or Tide of Iron, but the purpose was to explain that:
http://www.moselleriver1944.org/site/histoire_chemin_memoire...
to children in a noisy exhibition.
This is why it didn't need to be geomorphic and using sophisticated rules was impossible when you had 20 minutes for a game (including rules explanation time).
