Seriously. Rubber bands surprised me as well on your "perfect gaming day". They are evil! Why not get some Amazing Tape instead?
Weird, maybe I'm naive or something... what's so evil about rubber bands?
Rubber bands dissolve after a few years and generally ruin at least the top and bottom cards of the deck they're holding, I've been lucky with used games I bought in that I could remove the rubber bands without any noticable stains, but it's still a good idea to keep them away from your games.
Of course, if you're certain that none of your games will ever dissappear in some closet for years at a time, you'll probably notice it before it does any lasting damage, but better save than sorry, right?
