A flagrant disregard on the 'one cheek' rule if ever I saw one.

Very true but it's a pretty lame rule to begin with and it was their very first day of playing Crokinole so I didn't bring it up. I was just glad to see my investment in the board was paying off with the kids enjoying it so much (Each of my three kids played at least 4 games last night and wanted to keep playing at bed time).

The one cheek rule is a very good rule, but only if you're playing competitively. Otherwise you could just slide around your quadrant of the board and make every shot a straight shot. Being forced to lean and take shots at awkward angles is part of the fun.

But it also gives an unfair advantage to a player that is significantly taller than the other. It would be much easier for a taller person to lean, and use his longer arms, than someone shorter. I acknowledge that this would be a rare case, like an adult vs. a child. Personally, I think that in a board game, something like a height advantage doesn't fit.

The one cheek rule is more of a convention than an absolute law of the game. For the sake of fairness, make sure to make all players are aware of it before competitions, but for home play you can do what you want - it's for FUN. That's a nice looking board!

Awesome board. Though it seems like black would have a slight advantage on it. You better order some purple discs.
