Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But God does not take away life; instead, he devises ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged from him. 2 Sam 14:14
Okay. That is the coolest Crokinole board ever. Normally, I am not a big fan of painted boards, but that is mesmerizing.
One of the better painted boards I've seen but I'm still not a fan of asymmetry in Crokinole boards, nor am I a fan of the squared-off corners (prefer the perfectly-round ones for consistent hand placement).
Thanks all for the kind words and thumbs and even gold!
The paint design was mine. The board design and all the good craftsmanship was mostly Dan's adaptation of plans we got online (which were so poor, they weren't even tournament sized); any flaws were mine. (I think Rick and I were pretty pleased to leave the project with as many finger tips as we entered).
We took the board to the local mall's t-shirt shop to get it airbrushed. Gabriel did a bang up job.
My son (a kindergartener) loves all things space. I almost went with a solar system theme with the 20 hole as the sun and various planets in orbit (some scoring rings, some not), but settled on Jupiter because I thought it would be more stunning as wall art.
Our boards have hangers on the back which double as easy carrying handles. Our boards are generally made of thicker stuff than many out there. We also incorporated storage for the discs, routered out with a magnetized cover, and on the cover we have rules printed on a label (I've uploaded those rules...will link when approved), covered with clear contact paper, and scoring holes/pegs.

Your lady needs to see a doctor.
This one made me laugh aloud, possibly because my wife is a gynecologist!
Rick is correct. You can play on this board if you attend TN Game Days V coming April 30-May 2 at the Opryland Resort, Nashville. While there, you can also challenge me to a game of Warlords of Europe.
I am glad that you like this board. When Russ and I made this board we had many discussions about what to put on it. If you think the front of the board is cool, you should also make a point to look at the back side of the board that includes cool storage for the game pieces, and a handle for carrying/hanging on the wall. Here is the link to an image of the back of the board: http://images.boardgamegeek.com/images/pic670951_sq.jpg
If you have interest in a board like this, we have 5 more available for customization. Currently the boards are a natural maple, with no finish on them. The could be finished in a lot of different ways to suit your personal tastes. Different color stains could be applied, or it could be taken to a professional airbrusher to have an image added to the board like the Jupiter board above.
Here are those rules that I was talking about that happen to fit perfectly on the disc storage that Dan devised, and contain scoring holes for drilling and pegging. Though we've found the paper tears a little on drilling, so you may wish to trim the actual holes off.
