A summoning ritual in the LEGO cultists' mansion goes horribly awry. On the bright side though, it makes a nice dice tower.

The first of a few planned LEGO dice towers for Arkham that I hope to make. I figured an exploding building with some horrible, black goo dripping alien creature emerging from it (though you can only see a hint of its orifices in this image) was a good place to start.

Well, perhaps with the next one I'll take pictures as I build it to show its incremental development.

This, sir, is fantastic! Worthy of story in its self.

By the way, do the windows open? They appear to be hinged.

They are indeed hinged, but they only flip up a little because I have the green skin behind them. They aren't really intended to flip (more a product of how they fit together), but there are lego windows that are meant to open.

This was taken from many years of LEGO sets bought and broken down long ago, so it's impossible to trace sadly. I can probably break it down by the types of pieces, but I'd have to take it apart to get an accurate count, or try to rebuild it in Lego Digital Designer.

I plan to make more dice towers, so perhaps I'll take notes or photos as I go and then try to describe the method.

Thanks, everyone for all the feedback, by the way. I really appreciate it and keep it coming by all means!

Lego made a software to design lego model virtualy. That software can generate step by step illustrated plans automaticly. It can also provide 3D exploded views as well as many other features.

That is the easiest and best way I know to make quality plans for your lego dice towers. Link below if anyone is interrested.

Yes, I've used it before to begin re-making my Arkham card rack

That was pretty straightforward since it had a lot of repetitive parts, so it might be trickier to make this. Also I am not sure if all the parts I used are in LEGO Digital Designer, but I'll check later.

that is a seriously cool lego project. it makes me want to make an entirely lego set of accessories for the game. so i'm afraid i have to second an urgent set of building instructions!

i might see if i can do a more gothic sci-fi dice tower for use with Space Hulk/Space Crusade/small games of 40k.
