Looks interesting. I wonder when the bonuses apply. Do you have to pay prestige to get them? I'd seem very overpowered if the prestige leader automatically got them.
You pay one prestige and you play this card with your action card, for exemple if you play it with an explore card , you will have a +6/+1 bonus.
The other option is search, you can search a card in the deck, for exemple you say I am going to search a 6 development, you take cards until you find a 6 dev , you can refuse it but the second 6 dev yout must take it.
The power to discard from hand for points belongs on the IV line, not the $ line.
It's indicating that you only get the bonus if you choose Consume: Trade. It's definitely a little out of place, but it'd be pretty confusing if it were on the IV line in this case.

If it's a trade power (as opposed to consume power) what is the crossed out x2 about?

I think it's a consume power that appears on the trade power row in this particular case. The x2 exclusion is relevant in 2 player advanced where it's possible to choose both Consume Trade and Consume x2 in the same turn.
Quite simply, I think it's a Consume power that only applies when trading. Since Trade automatically triggers Consume, it makes sense to then list it on the Trade row and not the Consume row.
This card will be able to be used in two ways during the game, but only once, so you'll have to chose wisely when to use it and what to do.
The first possibility will be to use it as a prestige card. By paying a tiny little prestige point, you'll be able to use it as a bonus card, in addition to another action.
It means that, combined with a +1/+1 explore, you'll be able to a +7/+2 explore and discard using your full hand.
Developpement will grand to an additional -2 bonus, and settle will have some reductions too.
Consume and trades will grand additional cards and the option to discard to score. Then, if the actions you chose was "trade" you'll consume for x2 (x1 + x1), and if your action was consume, you'll get a.... x3 (x2 + x1)!
The production bonus will be having a second winding world production and some drawing.
The second way to use the card will be as a "super search". When activating it, you'll chose a category among the 9 available, and then look for all incoming cards until you find one belonging to this category. You can "refuse" the card and keep searching only once, so once again, you better chose wisely.
The categories are:
- a developpement giving +1 or +2 military - a 1 or 2 military or civilian world - a genetic (with symbol) world - an alien production world - a card with a consume power using at least 2 resources - a >= 5 military world - a 6 dev - a world with a takeover power (meaning they will be!)
Ok, that's only 8 categories, so maybe are the civilian and military search separated.
I hope it helps, and sorry for the languages mistakes
One thing. Are you sure that choosing Trade grants +3 trade, the ability to discard for VPs, AND ConsumeX2? It seems that you would need to choose the ConsumeX2 action to get the Prestige bonus of +X1.
Randall, the discard for VPs power has, until now, always been a Phase IV power. However, in this case, it is only granted if you pay a Prestige Chip, play your Prestige Card and choose the Consume Trade ($) Action, so it appears on the Consume Trade line of the Prestige Action Card. If it helps, you can think of it as being similar to the draw a card power that is present in Phases II, VI, and V. It is the same power, but sometimes it is present in different phases.

Yep, it has been clarified by the author of the trictrac news in the comments (under the commentaires section).
This is precisely why I will never play this game again, that card hurts my eyes.
It's actually pretty straightforward. When you play this card, it has six effects which take place, in order:
I. If you have at least 6 cards in your eye, draw a card. Then discard down to four cards in your eye.
II. Lose 2 diamonds.
III. Lose 3 black circles, and gain 2 red circles.
$. (Note on your keyboard that "$" is a capital 4, to distinguish it from the lowercase 4 which is the next step.) For every dollar you spend, draw 3 cards. For every 2 cards you discard, gain a hexagon, but DO NOT raise them to the 2nd power.
IV. Take the number of hexagons you have, multiply it by 1, and gain that many more hexagons.
V. Draw 3 cards. Then all of your rectangles become circles, REGARDLESS OF COLOR.
The posts above seem to indicate that you pair the card with your chosen action to get the bonus in that phase only. Not sure how it would work in 2p Advanced but presumably you would have to pick one of your two actions to pair it with.
(Newby with base game only suspects some oldtimers have built up an incredible tolerance to their drug of choice, RftG, and are seeking new highs with incredibly tricked out cards. Not that there is anything wrong with that. You simply exist on a different plane than this mere mortal.)

Is anyone else worried that this seems a very inelegant addition to an otherwise impressively well-designed game?
I guess we just have to trust that Tom does know what he's doing.. but it seems to me that, since there's already an action in the game (Explore) for searching through the deck for specific cards, the correct way to implement a search power would be to provide a massive one-off explore bonus.

I just saw this. This post is perfect, expect I think I would prefer this interpretation for phase $:

Trade = discard up to two cards in hand for one VP each? Consume = Get an additional round of vp points? = 3x if you picked consume?
